This film is about tribes in Africa and South America who turn toward magic as a means of survival and way of life. The Mundari tribe in Africa herd cattle but do not slaughter them for meat. They make use of the cattle urine as an insect repellent and shower underneath their cows. They also use the dung as a body covering to further thwart insects and pest. The cattle are so prized to the Mundari that they are treated as a member of the family and a number of Mundari are shown puffing into the cattle's vagina to encourage an early birth. A hunt is then shown where the Mundari are able to bring down mighty Elephants and Giraffes with ease

Less Shocking, But More Informative
I just finished watching this movie, minutes ago. I thought this was going to be really shocking, and at times it was. But it is not as shocking as advertised. However, I think that is great. The pure realness and interesting story of the tribes shown is just like intriguing. It is much more an interesting show of primitive people than of shock. I gave it only three stars because most people are looking for shock and it is not shock. If you are looking for something which is an informative, interesting show of the people of areas of the world you will never ever visit than this is a must see.

The DVD versions of this movie are incomplete as well as the VHS versions produced in the late 90s. I saw the original it has scenes of voodoo, santaria, satanism that take place in Haiti, Brazil and the united states. These scenes are now removed from the DVD and VHS tapes produced in the late 90s. Shop your local mom and pop video stores or flea markets if you find a tape produced in the 80s buy it. The DVD and VHS versions that are being offered are sanitized and have 15 to 30 minutes removed from them...

Life isn't as we know it!
Thank god we are civilized where we live. Cows are cool, BUT, not that cool. The rituals and beliefs of tribes make you glad to live in a civilized country. This movie has nothing to do with "Faces of Death". Or anything like it! It's real, but SICK, and at the same time interesting but not for the weak minded or easily sickened. TLC does not touch this extreme and discovery would never aire this. I found it by a mistake but have told many and they have all came back with their own stories of what they seen. It's a don't miss video for those who want to witness the extreme realities of what lives on this earth.
