Coqopan Chicken Roaster, Steel - "As featured on Channel 4's Buy It Now"

I first saw the Coqopan on Channel 4's “Buy it now for Christmas". I was very impressed that you could cook a chicken in 50 minutes. We usually buy ready cooked chickens to save time for our Sunday Roasts.It came well packaged with cooking instructions. The dish and tray are very lightweight and has a smooth non-stick coating. It fits neatly in our Neff oven with an equal amount of space free for another similar sized tray to roast your spuds.I made the mistake of not reading the instructions properly. It recommends you weigh the chicken beforehand and not to rely on the packaging to ascertain optimum cooking times. I cooked our chicken for around 50mins. It was so easy. Just add water to the bottom tray, place chicken on the cone facing the right way and close oven door.We were rewarded with a lovely juicy cooked chicken. It certainly got the seal of approval from my kids, particularly my eldest who is 12yrs who normally just picks at the leg. Not with this one, the chicken meat fell off the bone and was so tender and soft she ate it all. The chicken was easy to remove from the cone and the collected juices from the chicken were used to make a really flavoursome gravy. The non-stick surface on the Coqopan worked really well making cleaning by hand very easy.The Coqopan certainly cooks a great chicken and for us as a busy family it’s a lifesaver for time in our household. I have no intention of buying a cooked chicken ever again. I thoroughly recommend this product.

Coqopan Chicken RoasterWow what an easy way to quickly cook a very moist juicy chicken.I normally cook my chicken under foil with a cup of water which does produce a juicy chicken but the Coqopan Chicken Roaster takes it to the next level ...it roasts the out side and steams the cavity...wow easily the best chook we've eaten for a long while.I was sceptical when I say it on TV ... I had pre-ordered this but decided to cancel ages ago when the delivery time was many months away ...then Amazon suggested it to me a couple of weeks ago for £15 so thought I'd give it chance.The instructions say 20mins per KG at ~190c but I've found that at a lower temp of ~140c and 35mins per kg minimum it works much better with the meat falling of the bone and still very very juicy..My kids love a roast chook so I'll be using this a lot.It's also very easy to clean .. which is nice.

The media could not be loaded. This tray cooks the chicken well. The only issue that it takes up most of the space in your oven so its not ideal for a Sunday roast.Fine for chicken and chips or if you have 2 ovens though.If the spike could be taken off the base then storage would be much easier.

We have been after one of these since it first appeared on TV but it was always out of stock.When we remembered it and found it in stock it was a no brained!Its a great addition to the kitchen and does speed up cooking the birds in a safe and thorough manner. It is quicker and means we don't have to invest such long periods of time in prepping the bigger meals and waiting round.Easy to use, easy to clean and has the bonus of enabling funny photos with your bird sat up on its legs for everyone to enjoy.Would thoroughly recommend!

I purchased this with a little scepticism but loved the idea of cooking a roast chicken in half the time. The instructions don't say whether you should add cold or boiling water so I added boiling water. Preheated it to fan 190 degrees, as advised. Was a little worried about spilling the water once I put the cover on but it was fine (the base is only about half full with recommended 500ml of water in it). Carried it over to the oven easily. Even though I have arthritis, the small size of the roaster made it much easier to carry to the oven and put in the oven than my usual roasting tin which is twice the size.It was possible to put par boiled potatoes in a preheated small tin of oil and put it on the same shelf. (I did remove the higher shelf from the oven). I took it out once to turn and baste the potatoes.Both were cooked within 50 mins. The chicken wasn't as brown as with normal roasting but looked ok, was evenly cooked (I use a meat thermometer to check the temperature). I probably could have taken it out after 40 mins to be honest as the meat was at 90 degrees, so a bit hotter than I needed. It was nice to have both cooked and come out of the oven at the same time.No foil was needed which appeals to me given the times we live in.All I can say is my 14 year old son asked for seconds of the potatoes and chicken and he's rather picky lol.

Simply an excellent, well designed product. This is easy to use, easy to clean and produces excellent roast chicken. It definitely cooks quicker and the results are delicious. I used to use a beer can (the Jamie Oliver beer butt chicken method) and this does a similar thing, but beer cans contain plastic and things so really, health-wise, it's not ideal to put them in the oven. Also, it's hard to get the beer can out of the chicken afterwards without spilling hot, greasy beer everywhere. This resolves all these issues. Because of the shape, the chicken just pops on, and 40 minutes later, the cooked chicken will be ready. Comes with full instructions too.
