Hurray, it works! I have an HP15 Pavilion laptop and this is a perfect replacement. No instructions in the box but it was easy to install on my computer. You do not have to open up the computer. Just remove one screw on the back and pull out the drive. Be sure to remove your battery before you begin.Watch YouTube videos for various examples.The most difficult part was removing the bezel from the old drive to install on the new one. It does snap off but the two plastic tabs were a bit fiddly. Also, remove the bracket with the retaining screw from the back of the old drive and install on the new one (two screws). Slide the new drive into the computer and replace the retainer screw.Fantastic! The button on my DVD drive works again, plus it plays :)My HP15 Pavilion is only 4 months old but I didn't want the hassle of sending it away for warranty replacement. Well worth doing it yourself for only about $35.

I ordered this to replace an SU-208 SuperSlim DVD burner in a friend's Toshiba Satellite laptop. The unit arrived quickly, was well packaged, and is an exact match for the original drive. All I had to do was transfer over the rear bracket and faceplate to the new drive then slide it into place. Changing an optical drive on a Toshiba Satellite is extremely easy, requiring only removal of the bottom access panel (1 screw) and a single screw securing the drive. The replacement literally took all of 5 minutes. Excellent price as well.

But my computer man got my old one working so I sent this one back to amazon. Amazon was very proper about it all.

Update 11/23/16** The new drive lasted about 500 movie rips before it died. For the price I couldn't be happier. Another one is on its way!Inexpensive easy replacement! My oem drive failed after ripping about 100 DVDs so i bought this. Easy replacement. I have ripped about 200 more with this drive and its still going strong!

Burner portion of my computer was done for.. thought I'd have to get rid of the computer. Amazon to the rescue ...they have everything. It was an exact match didn't even have to install new drivers. Took all of about 2 minutes to install.

Looked like new and worked out of the box....Love it

Installation was quick and it works just like it's supposed to. Installed it in my Toshiba Satellite L75-C7136. Swapping out the faceplate from the old drive to this one was slightly tricky, but patience and watching a few YouTube videos is a must.

This part came with a different faceplate, which appeared to not be removable. Therefore it did not fit the laptop I intended to put it in. When I got it "sort of" fitted in, I found it would not read a disc. Of course, that might be a problem on the mother board....

Not an original Toshiba DVD but it works perfectly after going into BIOS so the Toshiba laptop finds it. Received immediate answer and help on this issue when we complained that the DVD was not working.
