Q: Has anyone used this on Lexan to bond itself to each other? Don’t want acrylic cement.

Yes. I had a cracked handle on an old RoboCoup vessel that I could not reorder any more. About two drops of the SC-325 fused the joint. Waited three days to really stress it and works fine.

Acrylic and polycarbonate solvent cements consist of highly volatile components that will evaporate through anything that isn't a solid, welded metal container. No matter how tight you screw on the lid, there is a path out, and the cement WILL find its way out. Low temperatures and many layers of aluminum foil can retard the evaporation, but will not stop it.

Q: Is this methyl methacrylate?

This item does not contain methyl methacrylate, however several other caseway products like SC-94 Acrylic Solvent Cement, SC-100 Acrylic Solvent Cement, and SC-101 Thickened Acrylic Cement, contain methyl methacrylate.

Q: How to use? It's so thin there isn't enough to contact both surfaces I'm trying to bond. Trying to bond two polycarbonate roofing sheets.

It is a solvent cement so it is water-thin. Its fairly intuitive, solvent cements are used to bond two substrates that are making contact with each other typically overlapping or butt joints without a visible gap. Being water-thin this allows the solvent to flow between the surfaces through capillary action. Whatever type of sheets you are using they will have to be contacting each other for this solvent to work. If that's not possible you may want to look at another means of connecting them. Also if you are using thin wall sheets and trying to butt them together, it will be very difficult getting enough contacting surface area. You may need a thickened cement.
