Good news. Just spoke to Waterpik. They will replace the leaking part for free (One day out of 2 year warranty)
After 2 .5 years the battery gave out. Because how itwas listed when you put Waterpik into the search boox, a different irrigator is snuggled in below the waterpiks and says its the NEW AND IMPROVED version MISLEADING one to believe it is also by waterpik. I fell for it and after ordering it was dissatisfied. I chatted with Amazon and they said they would send me a new waterpk on SAME DAY SERVICE at their expense for the confusion. I am so pleased with my ointeractions with AMAZON on EVERY LEVEL (been with them for 3 years now) that I can not recommend the company more highly!. The new waterpik arrived 17 hours after talking to them (Amazon) and I now have the product that far outdoes the "new improved" model by another company. See my review of their item. It's great. I now mix the mouthwash I use in it with water (seems a 50/50 blend works fine) and it delivers as advertised. It runs long enough (ample amount in fact since I often have contents left over) Is light and maneuverable has 2 power ratings although I only need the hi setting. When I take it off the charger it seems to run forever! I left it off for over 3 weeks and it never stopped working. I put it back on the charger since my other items on my 2 outlets thinned out so I never did find it's maximum battery (non ac connect) point. I think I will recommend this battery to TESLA. I guess my only silly issue is how they created the hole stopper where you put the liquid into the holder. It works fine, don't get me wrong. But once you buy it, it LOOKS as though it will come open. (IT NEVER HAS) which is somewhat of a miracle of design Perhaps I should simply change my rating to 5 stars....lolWell the replacement came through and it does not leak. I am very happy they did replace it because when it coincidentally started dripping two years to the DAY (on a Sunday) that it was covered for on a 2 year warranty that I had no idea was in force, the kind lady at Waterpik realized how close I was to the deadline that she simply replaced it. I didn't even have to tell her that I tried first Amazon on Sunday who advised me to call Waterpik first in order to get this resolved. So as far as Waterpik knew, I was one day out of warranty and I didn't bother to tell her that I DID try on Sunday but they were closed. I feel good about them backing their product like this. However, when I asked if the replacement also had a 2 year warranty on it, she sadly said "no".++++++++++++++++++++++++Evidently I have had this 2013. As of today FEB 2016, THE BATTERY FINALLY STOPPED.I SEE ANOTHER PERSON RAN HIS FOR 8 YEARS. THIS IS ONLY 3 PLUS YEARS. I WILL LOOK INTO REPLACING THE BATTERY AND SEE IF THIS IS A BETTER SOLUTION THAN BUYING A NEW ONE, SINCE THEY HAVE UPDATED THE MODEL. I WILL RETURN AFTER INVESTIGATION.

Great product, even for "problem" teeth
I have never used a Water Pik of any kind before buying this product. I have crooked teeth and am constantly getting food caught that needs to be flossed out. I bought this "water flosser" with some skepticism -- I kind of doubted that it would be able to get the trapped food particles out from between my crooked teeth as well as string floss does. Immediately after using the Water Pik Waterflosser Cordless Plus for the first time, I used string floss to see if anything had been missed, and surprise -- nothing was missed! I now use the Water Pik exclusively, and save the string floss for when I'm going out for lunch or something like that. It is true that I have to refill the water reservoir once or twice during each use, but it's so easy to fill that I don't consider that a problem -- takes just a couple seconds. I am planning to get braces later this month, and I had been concerned about how to floss my teeth through the braces with string floss. Now, I'll just be able to use the Water Pik with its special orthodontic tip (which comes with this model, along with several other tips). I was also hoping this item would be small enough to take along for travel. Although it ideally could be a little smaller for that use, I will definitely find room to take it along when I travel -- obviously, if it were smaller, the water reservoir would have to be refilled more often, so there is that trade-off. One thing to note: The NiMH batter in this model cannot be replaced, so if it dies after the 2-year warranty expires, you will need to replace the entire unit. To extend the battery life for as long as possible, the user manual recommends keeping the unit plugged in for charging ALL the time EXCEPT during use. I will do this to extend the life of my battery, but if it still dies after 2 years, I will gladly buy another unit. At a price of about $40, it's well worth $20 per year.

Nice, Once You Get The Hang Of It...
I have used this waterpik for about a month now. Since I have not used a waterpik before, I had a bit of a learning curve to make it most effective, and keep water off the bathroom ceiling. I have the following observations:-It's going to be a bit messy. Get over it. It is worth the effort.-You will have about 30 seconds before the unit runs dry, but it refills very easily. This is the disadvantage of a smaller, portable unit that is easy to travel with. But if you do it right, 30 seconds is enough.-If you pik after you brush, you can see 'bits' of what was left over in your mouth, that brushing didn't get. Then you realize why you are using one of these in the first place.-Since cold water is painful, use warm water. Or, I just fill it when I'm done with it, and it will be room temp for the next time I use it.-This unit takes up very little counter space, or goes in a drawer nicely, as compared to the larger units. I like this, since counter space is a premium. Downside is that you have to recharge it, but after daily use for a month, it is still on its first charge. Best of both worlds.-Unit feels like quality, and performs well.-Different tips are provided, but I've only used the basic one for now.UPDATE: It has been almost a year with this unit, and I have had one problem. The unit wouldn't re-charge, and I discovered that the brass contacts where the cord plugs in, had developed a layer of corrosion. A sharp knife, and a few scrapes later, it was back in shape. Otherwise, it is working well, and my dentist is happy.UPDATE: It has been a little over a year, and the charging cord has failed. Therefore, the unit is kaput. However, I kept my box, and it says it has a 2-year warranty, so we'll see how Water Pic handles the return. I notice the new units in the stores have only a 1-year warranty. The cord is an ongoing concern, and I wish they would fix it.
