It's all (Not) in the details...
CONS:1.) The body of the pen is PLASTIC, and because it's plastic, it's a slightly different color than the metal cap.2.) The eraser is small, maybe typical for asian writing, but not meant for erasing larger mistakes. Other Pentel pencils (Twist-Erase) have larger, and so longer lasting erasers.3.) The knurled steel grip ring is in the middle of the barrel, not where I hold the pencil, so while pretty, it's not functional as a grip.4.) There is a small metal eraser cap, which is only loosely (friction) fitted. If you shake the pencil the cap can come loose and fall off, so you need to check your pocket, pencil case, etc., to not lose it. On the other hand there is no ridge on the cap to grab to pull it off. it's the worst of two worlds: it can fall off (to become lost), but can be difficult to remove. And of course there's no place to put it if you're writing and repeatedly erasing without the eraser cap in place.PROS:1.) Other than the above, it works well, and is pretty. It has a nice solid feel, weighted, but not heavy.2.) The large metal pencil cap, clicks on and off, feeling very secure and it of course protects the tip in your pocket.DECISION:For the price and design it's not all it should be, although it will be positively noticed by people unaware of the cons above.Recommendation-Not for work, mostly for show.People in the know will know it's a "no."Final Thoughts:The Pentel Twist-Erase is a better functioning work-a-day pencil at a quarter (or even a tenth) the price of this. The Twist-Erase GT has a low quality (economy) feel and look to it, but the GT does have a retractable metal shaft (tip), that won't poke your pockets.
