Torrey Pines Logic T12-M Thermal Imaging Sight peers through complete darkness, bad weather, smoke and more! If it radiates heat, you can see it. No matter if it's the dead of a moonless night, in the middle of a storm, on a smoke-filled battlefield or in dense cover, the advanced, heat-detecting capability of Torry Pines Logic T12-M Thermal Imaging Sight sees what night vision scopes can't. The features of these remarkably compact Sights rival that of models costing much more: wide-angle field of view, multiple display views, temperature read-out and a variety of mounting options, including a standard Picatinny mount and handle that allows for use as a handheld device. Excellent for hog hunting and other nighttime or foul-weather hunts, plus useful for security, search and rescue, energy efficiency / maintenance and electrical applications. Got 'em: On-board image processing enhancement modes; Manual and automatic NUC capability; Temperature read-out; Battery read-out and protection; Auto power-save helps conserve battery when not in use; Multiple display views: white hot / color / black hot / NV green; Resolution: 80 x 60 pixels with FLIR Leptons; Picatinny mount with quick-release; Frame rate: 30Hz; 50 Degree field of view; 35m range; 1.65" x 1.79" x 1.77"h., 3.8 ozs. Great little device.
Works better than expected. Came with a little handle for use when detached from weapon system. The screen is small but that is to be expected for something compact enough to be weapon mounted. The four different views (thermal rainbow, white hot, black hot, and night vision green) are easy to scroll through and each has its advantages in different settings. The 50 degree field of view (specific to the T12-M) is great for close quarters but i have also used it in woodland environments. This imager is even sensitive enough to detect the change in temperature on objects that have been recently touched.I priced other handheld and weapon mountable thermal devices and found them to range from $1800-$10,000. In my opinion this is a steal at $600 (I got the 30hz/quick detach version designed for law enforcement/military use). They make cheaper models with a slower screen rate, no quick detach and different fields of view that would serve most peoples purposes/needs.I recommend this thermal imaging system for law enforcement, military, first responders looking for missing people or anyone who wants to see what is going bump in the night. I have not tried using it for other suggested purposes such as checking for heat leaks in your home or issues with engines etc... but based on my experience with this device i believe it would work well.

Definitely not for me!
Very very disappointed with this product, it is far too small and the discription is very misleading it does not have the heat detection range that it claimed to have and has a camera effet where the image appears even smaller, I want a full refund and requested it, I would more than happily give 5 stars and change my review but this product is not for me although I could see a place for it some certain applications.

Performs as well and better than expected for it's cost.
Fast deliveryWorks very well for me, as a short range tool hand held. Will be a very good tool for a search of building and clearing. Secondarily use for pest control at short range on 22LR pistol. Would work very good on home defensive situation if you don't or didn't need to identify anyone positively before you engage them.I got mine before the price drop, i find it worth it's cost. With that said I have used and do use military thermal units and currently have and use FLIR units at work. With that said it functions better in some situations than a top end model of FLIR. Yes I would prefer the FLIR units.... but I don't have $4000 + laying around for a limited us. If I was using full time I would have FLIR unit. I have been checking it out and testing for a few nights so far. Clear weather works out to and past 30 yards I could identify vehicles at further range. Would work well in short range tracking in cooler weather. The other night raining / mist had issues with "image blooming" (I need to get more use and experience with it resetting it for conditions)As I try out more I will try to add more about it. Only tested for 3-4 nights so far 2 clear weather the rest was raining. So now that I have had the unit for quite some time and have used it a good bit. It was worth what I paid for it, and is holding up. I carry with me to work just in case of need to locate someone or such. I have found it to out perform some higher end units at some task, suprisingly it can pick up heat signatures though glass which FLIR units (I've used) washout or don't detect. I tried out a newer models that have better range (longer) that I liked but the one I have will keep it's job. For firearm (hunting) use I got a ATN unit, after seeing the cobbled set up from Torry Pines.

Faulty sensor, returned no hassle
Had highest hopes for this sight but was let down. From the start it had a hot spot blob and a ring surrounding the center of the screen making it unusable. Other than that it was built very well and a really cool idea for cheap thermal weapon sights. Had decent range and resolution for $700

Works great
This thing works great, at first I was worried about the price but after putting it on my AR and being able to see all the small game light up on the screen has made it worth it.

One Star
If you buy this also buy a very large magnifying glass. I returned it because it was a joke.

Don't let the size fool you. These work and cost less than a decent car.
The reason I purchased this item was pricepoint. For 1/10 the price of a "Midrange" thermal sight...it delivers!Person sized objects can be viewed and tracked for 80+yards in daylight. That's as far as I need, but it can detect (with, some, detail) warm buildings and cars at 150+. If my object were hunting across a large field, the T12W would be the better choice. My concern is home defense and dealing with predators like coyotes . To that end; it worked, well, on my AK and I'll be trying it out on a shotgun, next. 3 reticles, each in B/W and red , for 6 total, the B/W adapts to the heat sensed in order to remain visible. The screen is small, but the light weight and quality of the picture are a fair trade. This is the most cost effective option for those purposes.Only improvement I would recommend to TPL would be a "shield" that could clip on and shade the view screen. In, bright, daylight it washes out a bit.I recommend this product and intend to get the T12W, when I can.

In the right scenario it could find a use
It works, but you have to temper your expectations. I think for the use case of identifying heat signatures at night or in a dark interior it does that job, however the screen is small and not high resolution. Basically it is better than nothing so in that case it could be worth it, but practically speaking it will not blow you away with the capability.
