Nice size for the small of my back.
I use these every evening one behind my aching back, sometimes one under my hot, sore feet. I like that there not so stiff.

MALLEABLE, HOT + COLD GEL PACK WILL LAST OVER 20 YEARS!! USE FOR ACHES, PAINS, ETC
PROS:(1) both gel packs can be used for both heat and cold!(2) soft gel pack can be molded and wrapped around the body as needed (unlike a hard plastic cold pack) so often I can place them where I need them and they will stay without me having to hold them in place (of course, I won't be able to move around or they will fall off since there's no adhesion! lol)(3) gel pack stays cold for about 15 minutes!(4) comes with sleeves that work well for cold therapy (the cold keeps the skin protected, but also the cold transfers through the sleeve well) (I'm not worried if I eventually have to use a tea towel or paper towel if the sleeves don't last forever)(5) perfect to use on injuries, sore joints, or on hot days (especially when/if your AC breaks down!) to cool off(6) can easily use this product for 20+ years, very durable(7) great for the price!(8) relieves a lot of joint pain, relieves pain from minor bumps and bruises (volleyball dives, skateboarding falls...) I can imagine it could relieve some tooth ache pain as well.CONS:(1) the gel pack only stays really cold for about 15 minutes (but I just bought 6 packs so I could use 2 at a time and switch them out easily if I would like to keep icing for longer!) (Buying multiple is an easy solution!)(2) I'm not sure if the sleeves will work well with the heat (full disclosure: I *only* have used these gel packs for cold therapy over the years, not heat therapy so while the sleeves are on the flimsy side they get the job done for cold therapy and can definitely be used repeatedly. I've been using the same sleeves for months now but I just keep them on the gel packs when I put them in the freezer. So far, so good. Again I have plenty of tea towels if I need a substitute for a protective skin barrier between the cold pack and my skin.)(3) If the gel packs were to break open, it would be necessary to clean up, and throw away the gel immediately as someone could get hurt if they ate the gel. (While this has *never* happened to me and I've been using these products for over 20 years now, I suppose it theoretically *could* happen.) So you know don't eat the gel and if any gets on your skin, wash it off. But we're adults here so I think we can handle that. I hope. ;) (Keep an eye on your toddlers though!)

Not bad, work ok, but getting where they do not stay real cold anymore

Pliable to use on my neck.
It's flexible even when frozen. It easily formed over my neck. We keep it in our freezer ready to use. It comes with the two sleeves for skin protection. We most likely will not use it the microwave. It's convenient and comfortable.

Good for cooling down for sleep
I can't speak to any kind of pain relief, all I use these for is to keep cool some nights when it's too hot and my HVAC isn't enough by itself. They last about 15-20 minutes, which is enough for me to fall asleep. Still wake up sweaty sometimes, but it's better than not being able to sleep at all. The plastic is durable enough that I don't have to worry about falling asleep, then tossing and turning on top of them and breaking them. Solid stuff. Only complaint is that they do take a while to freeze, like at least a few hours. Good thing you get two, right?

Doesn't retain heat like the older versions
Disappointed in how quickly these cool down, now. The gel composition has obviously changed. Also, the encasing material is thinner, less sturdy (than our older 3M Nexcare hot/cold packs).I expect these won't last longer than 1-2 years.
