Sony Clie PEG-T615C/S
The Sony PEG-T615C attracted me because of its versatility - though dated. I wanted to explore its various functions beyond what I normally use: address book, calendar, daily business activities, etc. on my smart phone. I haven't been disappointed. I've chosen it to learn other options for use during leisure hours.

PDA = Pesky Digital Annoyance
While I am reasonably happy with my new Clie, I am not wild about it.It is sharp looking and easy to use. But, I'm finding myself to be far less impressed than I expected.The battery life is ridiculously short. Recharging should be an occasional task -- not one that I need to do every couple of days.And, the add on software is nice but it would have been better to have had more pre-installed. Yes, I do appreciate the opportunity to customize my PDA's contents. And sure, I need something to do when I'm not recharging the gizmo's battery...but I don't want to spend all that time installing software options!Afterall, I need some time to replace all of the contents previously loaded on the device when they are lost after the battery drains entirely while I'm otherwise occupied. You know, over a weekend when I'm involved with various recreational activities. I mean -- good God -- I thought I was buying a PDA here. Not a virtual pet! Do I have to monitor this thing like a nanny?!The thing is supposed to be helping me. Not adding another pointless responsibility to my life.It would also be nice if there were a few more accessories available now for this model. A keyboard would be appreciated. But I have not found one yet that is actually compatible with this model. Hopefully, that will change in time.For the most part, I may just need to get the hang of living with this gadget and depending on it every day...but right now it is more of a nuisance than I feel it should be.

Great Handheld, autonomy could be better
This is my 4th Palm powered PDA and my second Clie after the 610c, and I just love it. I loved the 610c and this one improves on it with more memory, a slimmer/lighter design, latest OS, additional softwares and a few bugs that have been fixed (auto off now works!). The only problems (relatively speaking) that I see with it are as follows:The battery does not last very long, I would guess 4-5 hrs of continued use with the backlight on. Believe me, unless you're in bright daylight, you NEED the backlight on...Anyway, I guess the autonomy is the price you pay for such a slim device. Plus, on the 610c you could unplug the charge cord from the cradle and use it at home to charge your Clie directly into the wall. Now, you can only charge the 615 on the cradle, unless you buy the...adapter ..Not good, especially now that you need to recharge more often.The color screen is not as bright as on the 610c, I would say about 90% as good, so it still looks spectacular compared to the Palm IIIc and all the other 160x160 resolution screens. You just have to set it at almost its brightest setting for best results.All in all, this is the best Color Palm Powered device out there. No other one even comes close, especially in terms of screen/color quality, that is until Palm finally decides to join the 320X320 screen resolution club. Also, since now you can buy 128MB Memory Sticks, you can load thousands of pictures in your Clie, dozens of books, or even entire dictionaries. New also on the T615, you can backup your handheld entirely on a memory stick for a later restore if something goes wrong and you lose your info. You can back it up up to 5 times. I back mine up every day, it takes only 3 minutes. If you are thinking about buying the 760c or the MP3 adapter for this one, forget it. With the audio on, I doubt you'll be able to listen to even one CD before the battery runs out, but if you mainly listen to MP3s at home and you have the charger, then you could use the Clie as an MP3 player, just make sure you are close to an electrical outlet...One look at how an Excel table looks on the Clie compared to the Palm IIIc, Hi-Res Pics or even eBooks will smaller, more defined fonts, convinced me to buy a Clie. I recommend you do the same. And one more tip, buy FasCPU , your Clie T615C will work much faster (from 33Mhz to 55Mhz, 46Mhz for the N610C), and still be as reliable. If you access books or pictures on a memory stick, you will welcome the extra speed.
