I like the colors, the powerful magnets and easy to use!We loved it!

Algebra tiles are particularly useful for practicing adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers and polynomials, and factoring polynomials. The magnetic property is particularly useful, especially if you are running a classroom following Peter Liljedahl's Building Thinking Classrooms model. But even if you're not, the magnetic properties make it harder to lose tiles!

These are great to show the whole class how to use Algebra tiles. The students having trouble multiplying polynomials using traditional methods have used Algebra tiles to get a visual of what is going on. The one problem I have is that technically the bars which should have a width of 1 should not be able to make a side with length x. Most Algebra tiles have the same problem. The students think they can line up 5 of the 1's to make an x. If the tiles were cut more precisely this wouldn't be possible. This doesn't cause to many problems, I just tell the students they can't do that. If something happens to the set I have, I will definitely buy another. The teacher across the hall likes them so much she is probably going to buy her own set for next school year.

I am pleased with the purchase but would like to offer some constructive advice to the maker/seller. There are no Y-squared tiles, no y-tiles, and no xy-tiles. The set I have will be great for solving quadratics but won't be useful for demonstrating two-variable equations. Please let me know if you make a set the does contain those tiles.

Good for teaching pre algebra concepts.

Most of my middle school math students loved these (but a few actually found them more infusing than just text). I keep them on my whiteboard at all times - they periodically come in handy outside my original lesson plan/explanation of a concept. Semi-dry erase surface (if cleaned shortly after). I have student follow along with individual sets at their desks.

Even if the first image is misleading, I read the product description and that's exactly what I got. I'm really happy with this product and I highly recommend it.

These tiles stick to the whiteboard in my classroom. They are not double sided like regular algebra tiles, but they are easy to use to demonstrate questions/answers to the class.
