Fantastic - best Lego advent calendar yet!
We have used 4 or 5 Lego advent calendars over the past 8 years - this one is by far the coolest! If you have a Lego+Star Wars fan, they will love it (and you might want to get it soon because I predict it will sell out well in advance of Advent)! I do think the advent calendars are over-priced, even for Legos, but they are such a hit with my kids that it is worth it in my opinion. It really makes the countdown in December exciting for them. I like the quality of Playmobil calendars just as well (although assembly is a pain) and the price is much nicer, but my boys play and play with all their legos, including the advent calendar toys, while the Playmobil only comes out occasionally. The extra Christmas magic the Lego Advent Calendars bring to our Advent season makes them worth the cost to me.

Great Lego Star Wars Fun!
My son absolutely loves this advent calendar. It shipped/arrived quickly in good condition and has provided great entertainment; in fact I think this is the most excited he has ever been about a toy. Every day is like a new fun adventure when he gets to open a new window. Just FYI, the assembly instructions for each day are printed on the inside of the door flap - it took us a bit of hunting to figure that out. My son is 6 and he has now put together 4 days worth of figures based on the one-picture instructions, with no problem at all.I think the value for the price is great. I'm not sure what the negative reviews are talking about. After buying many legos over the past few years, I have learned that individual lego minifigures can go for up to $5/EACH or even more in some cases! So to get 24 separate mini models/minifigures for this price is actually a sweet deal.

Worthless Overpriced JUNK!!!!
Sooooooo disappointed in this piece of junk. Made of very cheap flimsy cardboard and can only be used once. Very poor design and will most likely tear or rip when trying to open the days.....Gawd this piece of junk is awefull!!!The toys/items are so small they should be a choking hazard...completed! Worthless piece of JUNK!!!The price is rediculious......seriously......more over priced than wireless phones. I can't see paying 60 bucks for this flimsy worthless, the wind can blow away, piece of junk. I adore Star Wars but this piece of junk is such a waste of money that's better spent on a good video game you could get years of enjoyment out of for the same price.Seriously.......what JUNK!!!

Delighted to get this very first issued Star Wars calendar in such great shape!
Very cute Star Wars Advent Calendar. We were a little late to buying these calendars from the beginning, so when we decided to buy back ‘all the way(!)’ to 2011… it was extremely nice to be able to find them in such great condition. Packaging was excellent. Delivery was quick!

OK..... but the Lego City advent is better
Our son is now 7 and this is the second lego advent calendar that we have bought him. He liked the Star Wars advent but, after the 5th or 6th spaceship became a little bored with the "sameness" of each day's toy. In fact, I think he enjoyed playing with his little sister's Playmobile post office advent much more..... much to her annoyance.Last year we had the lego city advent calendar and this was much more Christmasy (if that is a word) and each day the little lego kit was fun and different.I hope lego comes out with a new advent for 2012!

A good Lego Advent calendar for Star Wars fans....
I've bought my son a Lego Advent Calendar four years in a row, and he always loves them, so I bought this the first day that I saw it here on Amazon. My 9 year-old will have to wait until the 24 days of Advent for his building fun, but being a huge Lego fan myself I opened the box up at the end and slid the tray out to take a sneak peek at what's inside.Overall, I feel this set is decent, especially if you can get it at its list price of $39.99. There are 8 minifigures - the Lego jackpot from my son's point of view - which include Chewbacca, Nute Gunray, R2Q5, Zev Senesca, a Tie Pilot, a Clone Pilot, a Battle Droid, and Yoda all dressed up in a Santa suit. The rest of the 10-20 piece mini sets build a fleet of tiny Star Wars ships, a handful of droids, weapons and tools rack, and yes, a token Christmas tree. While there is nothing really wrong with this set, I don't think that it's quite as spectacular as the Pirates, Castle, and Kingdoms Lego Advent Calendars released in previous years. Those sets had a lot of exclusive minifigures and unusual accessories, and you could lay everything out together to make a little themed Lego adventure, whereas this set is just a hodge podge of everything Star Wars. If you've got a huge Star Wars fan, I'd still recommend it. But if not, I'd suggest looking at Lego's other 2011 Advent Calendar, LEGO LEGO® City Advent Calendar 7553 , a cops-and-robbers themed set that starts out at least $5 cheaper and gives you just as many days of building fun.

Epic gift for a star wars fan
My sons got these as a gift and while my younger child mostly loved the mini-figures, my tween was so excited every day he could hardly contain himself. It was harder for my younger son to follow the limited directions on the open window as well.I know there were some complaints that the vehicles weren't recognizable, but I beg to differ. My son, mom, and I knew exactly what each item was (except one) as soon as it was built. I thought the Millennium Falcon was totally awesome. I could hardly believe they could make it completely recognizable with so few parts.Since there are only numbers on the doors, this gift is reusable every year if you desire. The doors are just thin cardboard so if you plan to display it, or keep it, you will need to take care when opening it. One of our boxes was pretty beat up by Christmas, but my oldest kept his very neat and tidy, so it can be done.I would really only recommend this for a true Star Wars fan of at least 7 or 8. Casual fans probably aren't going to recognize some of the people, or vehicles used from the movies, and cartoon series, and younger fans are probably going to be too impatient with the box and the directions. But for what it is, I was truly impressed, and can't wait to see what theme Lego does next year.
