Hard to Find Good Value In This Style
I chose five stars based on just my own experience with this product regarding the usual P.S. swap issues. The fit required a little file work to provide proper clearance for screws and the fan diameter - (not doing this could result in a slight obstruction to the cooling fan - maybe causing additional noise as well). These issues can be expected when not replacing the power supply with precisely the same model. In this case, it was worth it for the extra power 'head room'. What's a little filing?!Also, the hard-drive power cable needed to be longer. This was accomplished by cutting the old hard-drive power supply cable from it's old power supply, cutting the hard-drive power connector off the new power supply cable end, and splicing the two cables together for the added length needed. (Don't forget to check power supply voltage/wire color application charts, available on line with a little investigation.)Once installed, this unit runs without a hitch. It provides good cooling without excessive noise and works discretely, requiring no further attention.

Noisy, and hot
I bought this PSU to install it into 1-U media center PC case. It fits, but it is the noisiest PSU of this capacity I've seen in years. Clearly it has to be because it gets very hot. The fan is doing it's best, but clearly the internals are inferior so they heat up to an unacceptable temperature -- which in turn raises the temperature of the case. Oh, and that's at 120W of load -- I never pushed it even past 150, so I am afraid it would raise the dead with it's fan if you ever to try to push this unit to the advertised 300 watts. I suggest keep looking, I went with a mico , fanless PSU which is rated up to 192w, and that's enough for my purposes.

Great customer service
Only drawback was one fan instead of two. Works well, no problems as of yet. Removal instructions would have helped.

HP s3000e power supply upgrade
So far the unit is working fine. It was a little large for the fit in the slimline, but did manage to get it in. I hope it lasts lomger than the last KENTEK 250W I purchased (7 mo). I had severe problems trying to get warranty satisfaction from KENTEC on the 250 as there is no contact information available. After numberous attempts both by me & Amazon, Amazon gave me a refund. Amazon did not have to do this but did so to maintain their customer satisfaction. I am now a loyal Amazon customer!I decided to upgrade to the 300W since research indicated the original HP s3000e was way underpowered w/the original 160W power supply that failed.

An excellent replacement for the Hp Slimline Desktop computer
An excellent replacement for the Hp Slimline Desktop computer. I bought one to replace a failed Hp power Supply. I liked this 300 watt replacement so much that I bought another and used it preventively for a Slimline still working. Thanks !

Less expensive substitute for the manufacturer's PSU.
To fit this PSU into the HP Slimline Desktop, I had to file the opening around the power socket to allow the PSU to fit tightly up against the chassis. This slimline desktop has a mini-24-pin system board socket and even though the PSU description mentioned a mini-24-pin plug, this is an adapter that must be used to adapt the standard 24-pin system board plug to the mini-24-pin socket on the system board. The adapter for this socket did not come with the PSU. However, when I contacted the seller, they sent one out immediately. It cost me a couple of days extra time, though.
