Easy Rolling
This thing was just as cute in person as it is in the picture. It is only getting 4 stars because it looked like the package had been opened before and and all the hardware was rolling loosely around in the box. One of the nuts was missing and will require me to make a run to the hardware store.

High Quality and Versatile Toy
Beautiful, classic looking toy. My girl pushes it and uses it as a stroller. I also put her on it and push her. She can't turn it quite yet but it's light enough for her to do it once she figures it out. Perfect to hold her balance while she practices walking. One day she'll be able to use it like a little motorcycle. High quality toy and worth every penny.

Too Good
I bought this before my son started walking to give him a little incentive to do so. Turns out my three year old daughter and my eight and twelve year old step children enjoy playing with it, too. (Even though it's not supposed to be used as a skateboard.) My son is walking now but definitely still uses a lot it to ride around. My daughter is only too happy to push him around. They love they little space underneath for storing superheroes and books. I love the quality. This poor toy has been through the wringer and it still looks like the day it came out of the box. Which is great because I'm expecting a baby any day now, so it'll get used even more in about 6+ months!

Nice but the green Trike is better
It's super cute but I much prefer the green Hape Trike. There's no way to turn without lifting the bike. My kids don't have an issue doing it but the green Trike is much better.Update: After 6 months my children still fight over the green one. The green rider is apparently easier on the bottom, more fun and easier to zip and zoom. I would not purchase the red rider again after comparing the two. Hands down the green rider is more fun and every child that’s enter my home has felt the same. Signed a mom of 4: 8, 4, 2.5 and 9 months.Update 2 years later: The green trike is still going strong with use on a daily basis I’m our house while the red trike has been demoted to the basement about 6 months ago due to lack of use.

Questionable quality and engineering
Ordered this toy for my 11 month old so she could have some help learning how to walk as well as a riding toy that she could use later. The first one arrived damaged, the veneer on the seat was coming off and splintering - needless to say we did not feel this was safe or the quality we paid for. We did an amazon exchange and the second one we received was an obviously opened box that someone else had returned with some very very light wear and tear. Again, not what I paid for. In any case, we decided to keep it since it was still pretty new. The directions for putting it together left something to be desired and you definitely need a wrench or some pliers to hold the washers in place while you screw in the screws with the allen key. Kind of annoying to put together. Also, I think that if she tries to pull up to stand using the handle bars, it will probably tip over.Keeping it for now to test it out and see if it works for us.

Well-made and versatile
We got this for our granddaughter's first Xmas when she was 10 months old. Quite a bit of supervision was required for the first year or so, and she did have a fall because she decided to stand on it. Now at 2-1/2 she loads the bottom up with her favorite toys and takes it room to room. It was easy to assemble and is very well made. It's nice to see this kind of quality nowadays.

Defective screws make handlebar wiggle and unsafe!
In reviewing items from Hape for a birthday gift for one-year old, I really liked the idea of this little rider. Reviews were primarily positive. The walking feature and then being able to allow an older child to ride/scoot. This also featured a storage area which I felt was a plus over the green trike. Amazon fulfilled its shipping and delivery promises. The rider base (seat and wheels) are solid and basically appealing. I was very pleased as I took it out of the box. The only assembly was dropping the handlebar into the pre-drilled holes on the seat of the rider then inserting four screws into the sides of the rider to hold the handlebar in place and tightening the nuts. Simple or so I thought until I realized the screws do not thread through the nut. At first I thought I might have the handlebar on backward but that is not possible. Lining up the handlebar, pushing the screws through the pre-drilled holes and threading the nut I could not tighten this. The nut does not thread down onto the screw leaving about 1/16” of space. This causes the handlebar to be loose and wiggle. None of the screws can be tightened onto the nuts leaving a minor gap, but a gap nonetheless. The handlebar wiggles, the screws stick out and are not flush with the base on the outside or handlebar on the inside. Each of my photos depicts the problem it leaves a gap. Now this is where it gets interesting. I thought possibly the handlebar is supposed to have wiggle room. I tried finding info in the Q&A on Amazon and only one other writer questioned this but the response wasn't satisfactory. I went directly to the Hape Website to determine if more info could be found. I then contacted Hape. After I provided my name, address, the product code and photos and described the problem I asked if Hape could send replacement screws. Hape never said the handlebar should or should not wiggle, they merely indicated they did not have replacement accessories (screws/nuts???? really) and indicated I must return this to Amazon. I was a bit miffed by the dismissal from Hape which was kind enough to wish me the "best" in their response but offered no help whatsoever. Amazon offered replacement and free return for a defective product. "Kudos to Amazon". Again, really liking the rider for a one-year old, I ordered a second rider. Amazon delivered as promised. Well the same issue has occurred with the second rider and this is being returned for a full refund. I will not buy another Hape product, this was my lesson. In the photos I show: the inside screw on the left-sticking out; the outside right-hand side with the screw which cannot be tightened or made flush against the seat because the nut cannot be threaded down the screw. The screw with nut on top, looking down, this approx. 1/16" gap makes the handlebar unsafe. The Hape website promotes the following: "Hape believes that to play is in the DNA of every child, our job is just to awaken it and guide it gently. Our toys are created to inspire play, learn, and explore the world we live in. Through responsible business practices we aspire to leave the world in a better condition than we received it." If this is the way Hape leaves the world (or its products) in a better condition, I’d really have to question their understanding of better and responsibility to creating quality products.

Nice big wheels
My 1 year old walks outside with this and loves it. The big wheels roll over door frames and this product is more stable than most others I have see.

Great build and design
This is a gorgeous little walker. Great build and design. My boy has never really got the hand of using it as a ride on toy (at least not self propelled), but absolutely loves it as a walker. It's kept its bright colours and shiny finish despite getting rammed into everything in range. Can't ask for more in a kids walker.
