I'm white with type 3 curls. I have lots of baby hairs that are too short to stay in an updo. I got tired of them springing out and I knew boar bristle brushes were good for slicking hair back. This brush does the job! Even without a hard hold gel, I can slick/lay my wet hair down, put it up, and the baby hairs stay flat. The bristles are soft and short and do not pull/rip any hair out. Great price, too! Would recommend for anyone, especially curly girls, who like smooth updos.

A good brush for the price. I bought it to give to my husband as a beard brush so I could take back my nylon/boar bristle brush that he claimed for his beard. But he is change averse so I ended up with the new brush.I have baby fine curls that go to mid back and have not had good experiences in the past trying to do 100% boar bristle as it does not reach the scalp.But then I learned about sectioning and using boar bristle to distribute oils and not detangle. So I decided to try the brush out for that- and brushing from roots to tips in segments starting from the base of mg scalp 2x a day. This brush works perfectly for me! In just a month, my hair is smoother, neater, and the oils are definitely moving from the root all the way down the hair shaft.I just cleaned it with soap for the first time today as it definitely was gathering sebum. And my one worry is that the wood won't hold up to weekly cleanings with warm water. But that is theoretical so can't weigh in on that yet. I use a sandalwood comb and water to smooth my hair after brushing as the serious boar bristle brushing definitely gives my hair a frizzy texture as it distributes the oils. The comb and water helps reset the curls. And the looser curls and waves and smoothness have already gotten lots of compliments from my friends and family.

Very good brush

This is an attractive full size brush. There is no nylon bristles in the brush I received and absolutely NO STATIC. It did lose some bristles the first time I used it but that is to be expected with the first uses of a real boar bristle brush. I have very fine, thin hair and I have become so accustomed to the hard bristle brushes that it took me a couple of tries to get used to using a "real" brush again. Im not sure this would be effective for thick or coarser hair because it is so soft. After the first couple of uses I had the hang of it again and my hair was smooth,glossy and very soft and manageable-without any spray, mousse or product of any kind. Again, I dont think this particular product would be good for coarse or thick hair.

This brush started to lose bristles really quickly. Imy hair is never longer than 5 millimeters. I cut it once a week to 2 millimeters. So I'm not brushing thick hair with it.. But every time I brush. I see bristles falling out.

I don't really notice a lot of shedding like some people. There is a little, but I usually expect that with these kinds of brushes. It really is as soft as I wanted. I'm not saying it's like a feather, because that's not what boar brushes are, but it's very nice for my hair and especially scalp, which is super sensitive. The regular stiff boar brushes irritate it, but this is nice
