WORKS AS IT SHOULD
Purchased for my Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. Normal Temps with the OEM Thermostat ran anywhere from 205-220 consistently. With the 180, it now runs at a consistent 180-190 regardless of speed or outside temps.Seeing a lot of Mis-Info online about this topic/modification in general. Top concern being that you need a tuner to change your fan settings and that it'll make your check engine light come on. Changing Fan settings is great, but not a necessity. Assuming you'll always be moving & Bleed your system correctly, your temps should be under 200 even without changing your fan settings. Running between 180-200 is perfectly acceptable. All Fan settings do is keep your car from over-heating or from reaching a certain temp., meaning if you set your fans to 200, when your car reaches 200, the fans will come on and cool it back down to 190 or so and turn off. This means even without having a tuner to change your fan settings, your stock fan settings should still be adequate to keep your car from over-heating. Stock fans for Grand Cherokees SRT are set to come on around 220 or so, so in a unlikely scenario where your car is sitting idle for a very long time and hits 220, the fan will then come on and cool it back down to around 210 and this process repeats until you start moving again, it will then run around 180-190 again with this T-Stat.I have also seen a lot of people do this T-Stat change without properly bleeding their system, remember folks, once you introduce air into the system, you need to bleed the system properly. As soon as you remove the old t-stat, you’ve introduced air in your system. The Air in the system will cause your t-stat to not open and ultimately causing your car to over-heat. Doesn’t matter what T-Stat you have, if you don’t bleed your system you will overheat. These cars are more forgiving than others which is why people are able to get away with this mod without properly bleeding, but if you happen to be the unlucky one, your car will over heat. Bleeding your system with a Spill Free funnel kit is quick and easy .

I must say that I am pleased with the result
I bought this item a year ago and never installed it until now, reason being. I was busy doing ample research on possible problems and issues in the event of my vehicle rejecting it. I came up with nothing concrete so I installed it two days ago and being testing it ever since. I must say that I am pleased with the result, I have a five mile stretch of 8% grade hill that I have been driving up and down relentlessly and it maintained a much cooler engine than my OEM 205 stat. The highest temp recorded was 203 and that's after doing 105 up this grade three time consecutively, but seconds later it was back down to it operating temp of 188. Engine sounds less stressed and smooth. I have a 2016 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. Perfect fitment! I would recommend that you research for yourself and also to have modified your vehicle with at least a high quality cold air intake. Lower temp denser air so more fuel is applied and if the air intake isn't adequate then excess fuel will go into your exhaust system from your system running too rich.

Definitely helps keep the Charger cooler!
As others have stated, you will receive a Motorad T-Stat in JET packaging. With that said and out of the way, it performs exactly as I expected. I installed this in my 2009 Charger R/T R&T and after setting my fan speeds with my DiaboSport Predator the car consistently runs at 185°-190°F which is exactly where I wanted it. As many other owners have noticed this thermostat opens closer to 185° than 180°, which in my opinion is better for the 5.7L HEMI anyway. You want it cooler than the stock 203° T-Stat but not too cool. Other than that it's a simple install, just expect to lose a good amount of coolant so pick some up from your Dodge dealership as well as some distilled water to cut it 50/50 before doing the install and you'll be good to go. Do not use your run of the mill antifreeze from the auto parts store. You want the orange/pink OEM Dodge coolant. I saw an improvement in running more consistent times at the track with this JET T-Stat installed and feel better now that my car isn't running as hot as stock.

Yes it’s an inexpensive thermostat sold by Jet but...
I know, I know..it’s an inexpensive thermo sold by Jet Performance. That being said, it’s works well and it dropped my engine running temp considerably. I’m running a pretty hot Diablo tune and lots of bolt on performance goodies on my 2014 Ram. I was getting concerned about pushing the extra ponies with the stock temp starting to creep up. If you have a tuner, set the fan to come on at 180 with this installed and you’ll be happy.

A must for the 6.4 (392)
Awesome product. Fits my 2017 Jeep SRT 6.4(392) PERFECTLY. Took about 10 mins to install with a 13mm socket and ratchet.Stock thermostat ran about 215/220ish in 82degrees weather. Once installed with no tuner for fan setting (still running stock fan setting) while cruising in the city/ highway temps are steady 185/190ish. If stuck in traffic maybe 200/210 but once you start moving again back down to 185/190ish.. very good mod for what it's worth.

ALMOST RUINED MY ENGINE!
I drive a Dodge Charger R/T with a 5.7 HEMI. Installed this and it ran great for less than a month. Then next thing I know my engine is at 240+ degrees (Normal Operating temp with 203degree Tstat is 203-210). It was driving at that temp for two whole days!!!! I could've destroyed my engine had I not paid attention to the digital readout and out my trust in this T-Stat. The Jet T-Stat was barely opening and causing my engine to highly overheat. HEMI engines are known to drop valve seats when operating at temps lie this. Had something happened to my car before I caught the problem I would've taken legal measures.
