EXCELLENT straigthner! Well worth the money and gets hair SUPER straight with no frizz!
I love this straigthner from Hai!! I just got in the mail yesterday and immediately used it to straigthen my fairly thin, long hair. I LOVE IT! I love the white and blue color and the plates get hot very quickly and leave hair feeling silky smooth. I haven't had a chance to download songs and import them to this product, but I can't wait to do so later! Even without the music feature, this is an excellent styling iron that works perfectly for me (and well worth the money - $188 on sale for $31 WHAT A DEAL!). Couldn't be happier :)Updated 7/27: I went to transfer music from my laptop to the straightner last night. I was sadly disappointed to find that when I plugged the USB connector into my computer, an error message came up saying the device I was trying to connect was too big and immediately disconnected the straightner. Looks like I won't be transferring any music onto here :( It's not a big enough of a problem for me that would cause me to return the product, but if you're buying this straightner for the music feature, I don't think you should opt for this one. Maybe connecting it to a desktop computer would be more effective, I'm not sure, but hooking it up to my Macbook 13'' wasn't working.

Great HAI flat iron-don't care about the mp3
I bought this iron for 2 reasons= It's a HAI and it was $29.99 on Amazon. I really don't care about the mp3 player, and I don't plan to download music into it. So this review goes entirely on PERFORMANCE. I got it 6 days ago (and used it every day) so I'm not sure it's time to rate it or wait a little longer. So far, the iron has met my expectations. If this is your very first iron, you'll love it. In my case, my HAI classic convertible iron gave up on me after 3 years of usage, and have no complaints about that flat iron. This one, it heats up very quickly, you can "tune" the temperature you want, you don't have to constantly "run" the iron on the same strand of hair, so is less damaging to your hair. It gives good results and I'm VERY picky when it comes to my hair. I gave it 4 stars because I'm so used to my old iron, which was a little better. Hope you find this review useful.

Buy it for the iron--not the tunes
This is a high quality flat iron for a ridiculously low price--because combining an MP3 player with a flat iron is a ridiculous idea and they must have a ton of these to get rid of. Search for other Hai irons and you'll quickly see that you are a getting a steal with this. That being said, I don't use the MP3 player because 1) I can't get it to work, and 2) I can't be bothered to try to get it to work. So the music function may be broken but I simply don't care because that's not what I bought this for. If you are buying it solely for the music than you may be disappointed. Just be forewarned. I'm still giving it 5 stars because it excels at its prime purpose--straightening hair.A bit about my hair: I have curly, unruly hair that is also quite fine and prone to humidity. This flat iron straightens each section of my hair in only a few swipes, and combined with a good straightening product, my hair stays relatively straight all day. I am very happy with the results, and the ceramic irons are high quality and don't make those burning, crunching sounds that cheaper irons make when tearing through your hair.

Poor quality
I never review items but felt the need to with this one after my disappointment with it. The flat iron was a gift for my mother who has this hair. I liked that it had an adjustable heat dial. The problem is that the highest heat isn't actually hot enough to straighten her hair. He hair isn't curly, just a touch of wave. I use a CHI and have used this on her hair before with ease but the HAI doesn't even make a dent in her hair. Very frustrating. Don't waste your money and spend a touch more on one that will deliver results.

two years of intensive and extended use and back for another one.
This is the second that I order for my daughter. the first one last for over two years and she wanted the same one. Most teenagers abuse their belongings, my daughter is not the exception. My wife is a cosmetologist and she loves the brand better than other more expensive brands. The first time we heard about this brand was on the hair expo 10 years ago, where I bought one for $175 (digital stick of the same brand). This one is not digital but the same functions and heat necessary for thick curly unruly hair. Not that my wife and daughter had unruly hair but if they do I dont see it with this Iron. A note from the cosmetologist: take in consideration the thickness of the iron if you are using it for curls or flat iron short hair. This is a good size for curling if you know how to do it with a flat iron, its a girl thing I still don't understand.

Not for thick curly hair
I have had styling tools from this company in the past and they worked very well so I was very excited when I found this steal of a deal. Unfortunately if you have think and naturally curly hair this is not the flat iron for you. It required many passes to not even accommoplish the straightening I am looking for. If you have fine hair that doesn't need a powerful flat iron this may be the one for you, but it has not been ideal for my hair.

Salon quality at a big box retail price
I’ve had this flat iron for five years now, having retired an old Hai I’d previously purchased at a salon. This one rivals the quality of the salon-purchased one, AND it was far less expensive. It has the mp3 function, which I’ve never used, but as a flat iron it works great. It heats up quickly and can get very hot, though I find that 350 is just right. I straighten my hair almost everyday and it isn’t damaged. The only cons I would have to acknowledge are that it doesn’t have an automatic shut-off, the controls are kind of antiquated, and it emits a high-pitched humming/buzzing sound even when shut off, similar to a fluorescent light.

For straight hair- it's awesome, For music- it sucks
I'm giving this 3 stars instead of 5 because of the music option, or therefore lack of a music option. I followed the instructions perfectly and it just wont play music. For the price I paid for this straightener I can't complain all too much. Plus the point of getting this was to straighten my hair, and at least it does that really well.
