I love this thing. It works perfectly for what it is.

So, as a somewhat beginner to electric guitar and a novice acoustic player I was looking for a solution to an amp. I wanted to hear the effects and be able to play along with music. Also, wanted to save my marriage. I started looking up different amps and a device similar to this popped up. So I started doing some homework.Devices like this can run $20 to $300. Being the frugal guy I am I chose this one mostly due to price. I received it in about a week and have had it for a few weeks now. Two words: Game Changer.I'm one of those non-gifted people who love music. I dont have a built in tuner or metronome like my wife and kids. I work really hard and strive to develop a skill. I have good days and bad days. With this device no one can really hear me whaling away or messing up. Plus, it's fun to discover things like nailing Freedom Song by Bob Marley using the effects.Also, tonight, just a few minutes ago I discovered it works equally as well with my acoustic guitar. I plugged in and was pleasantly surprised how good it sounded.In addition. I would like to answer a few questions I had and may pop up:Q. Can I play MP3 or other music and hear my guitar?A. Yes! For someone like me that is timing challenged this has been a God send.Q. How long does the battery last?A. At least a week or more after playing an hour a day practicing. Haven't charged it yet.Q: Does it work with Bluetooth headphones?A. Yes!Q. Would you buy it again?A. In a heart beat!Q: Hows the marriage?A. Strong! Happy wife happy life.Hope this helps!

I travel now and then, and I often take with me a little travel guitar (a Washburn Rover, which has a great neck) which I have souped up with a Kent Armstrong jazz pickup and Fishman piezo and an onboard preamp. I play jazz and use band trax on my iPad or iPhone to back me up when I practice. This gadget offered the possibility of mixing my guitar with my band using Bluetooth and have it come out of the same speaker, amp, etc. Well, that worked, but it was a process.This is weird: the gadget has a 1/4” male Jack to insert into the guitar, as expected. I had understood that it has a cord with a 3.5 mm. (1/8”) male jack on each end. The cord insert into the gadget takes a 3.5 mm male jack. The gadget also comes with a 3.5mm. female to 1/4” male adaptor. Why? The cord already has one 1/4” male, for going into an amp, and I need a 3.5mm. male to plug into the gadget. Actually, the cord should have a 3.5 mm male on EACH END, and then include the 3.5 mm female to 1/4” adapter. Please fix this!So I bought a set of inexpensive, $40 Sennheiser headphones that came with a 3.5 mm attached cord, and I was able to plug that into the gadget directly and it worked fine. However, the maximum volume was not very loud. Adequate, but certainly no threat to hearing. I have an old Altec Lansing Orbit speaker that has a 3.5mm male cord coming out of it, and that works great with my iPad, but the cord is very short. So I bought a four foot cable with two 3.5 mm male jacks and bought a 3.5 mm female/female adapter so the two male jacks could work together. That worked fine, and I liked the tone, but again it wasn’t very loud, even turned up all the way. Then I spotted a pair of earplugs from an iPod I bought recently. I don’t use them. Never even tried. But they had a 3.5 mm male plug, so I plugged them into this gadget. Hey! They sounded great! Much more volume, and quite a good clean jazz sound! Yeah! So when I travel next week I’ll simply take the guitar, this little gadget, and the tiny earplugs, the last two of which take up only a couple inches in the guitar’s little gig bag.Bluetooth: I followed the simple directions. B6 showed up in my iPad under the possible Bluetooth pairings, I clicked on it, and it opened. Simple! Worked fine! I adjust my band against my guitar by using the volume on the iTunes app.Effects: I only use a clean channel, and the closest thing to that on this gadget is the Reverb function. With the headphones, that sounded like very mild reverb, and with the speaker and the earplugs, it just sounds clean. As for distortion, Flange, Wah, etc, I never use them, but I tried them. If you like to practice silently but with distortion, you’ll do okay with this. I’m not sure you’ll use the other effects. Bear in mind that there is no control panel app (so far as I know) to change the rates of these things, and you can only use one at a time! To change, you have to press a button to cycle through the options, and the button is connected to your guitar’s 1/4” outlet. Hard to see. Impossible while playing. So I’d say, count on either clean with a little reverb or a distortion tone. Those are the most important anyway, if you have to pick two. If you use an acoustic electric guitar and want it to go into an amp with Bluetooth to access your band trax, this will do that, quite nicely, using the reverb setting. Easy.So, this IS a useful little device, so long as you know what it does and does not do and it still meets your needs. I’m pleased, as it does what I need while taking up very little room. This and the earplugs should work fine with any travel guitar that takes a 1/4” Male jack.

Fantastic way to take video lessons and practice using headphones.

I use it with a Strat.Looks like the reviews range from “can barely hear it” through “super noisy (static) if you turn up the volume at all”. I fall in the later camp: have to keep the volume at its lowest setting to avoid the static noise but I offset that by turning up the guitar’s volume knob and can get it as loud as I need it (in a quiet room) with a little space left turn up the volume further.Another common comment is that it doesn’t fit all guitars: it fits a Strat perfectly: zero issues there.If it wasn’t for the static I’d rate it a 4 or possibly a 5 considering the price. Unfortunately the static is really bad, enough that I’m shopping around for something better.I mostly play it on “clean”. Other effects are fine, easy to switch to, but nothing to get excited about.Ultimately it comes down to application: if you want something portable to get a quick practice away from home it’s awesome. If you want to practice at home for extended periods I’d spend more for better sound quality.

I tried this thing for 5 minutes and loved it . . . . but after practicing for a couple of hours, the ongoing, pulsing static bursts are driving me nuts. I can't get it to stop unless I turn the volume all the way down (off). It's super annoying. I really wanted to love this thing but it does it regardless of whether it's plugged in, and when it's not; when BT is connected and when its not, if the jack is straight, or if it's bent. It doesn't matter. Seriously, it is bad enough to make me go back to playing through my pedal. Very sad.Other reviewers have volume issues but personally, my instrument volume is great. I'm using an active Fender J bass pickup from a quality Fender bass that has no noise playing through any other equipment. I read other reviews where people said they had a clean sound. I can only guess that the discrepancies are likely due to build quality or something. Waste of my birthday money. Sad
