My 3rd Unit
This is my 3rd Hitachi / Metabo drill screwdriver. Got my 1st one (a Hitachi) as a gift from my kids about 20 years ago and thought: "That's pretty lazy if you need to use an electric screwdriver!" But after a few uses, that's pretty much all I use! Fits in my carpenter jean rule pocket, a set of bits and sockets and I'm ready for almost anything! No, it doesnt have the torque to drive in deck screws (yes, it'll remove them but wont drive them into virgin wood- unless you pre-drill a pilot hole)I pretty much wore out my first Hitachi. It still works ok but pretty beat up! LED doesnt work (the switch) but it keeps torquing away perfectly! Sometimes it bites my hand when it goes from straight to pistol grip but it keeps chugging along! Finally decided to get another one and retire this Hitachi!Well... Hitachi sold and changed names to Metabo! Same product- kinda snazzed up but definately cheaper plastic! Thinner, motor is somewhat slower and less torque than the Hitachi- but basically works just the same! Great unit! Out of all the electric screwdrives I checked out, thios one it tops. ALL the batteries are the same 3.6v - plenty adequate. I did replace the charger unit with a smaller one and relegated the original Hitachi driver to my 'go-box' tool bag in my truck (I have a couple of rental units)Decided to get yet another one- while they're still available. Amazon keeps playing with the price- up and down- and this time when they dropped the price- and had a coupon discount too- I jumped at it! Great, practical and useful tool. Maybe I did get 'lazy' in my old age but once you use it, you'll use it often! Now that I have 3 of these, I have one in my house garage, one in my shop and one in the truck so I dont have to go searching for one! Now I have 6 batteries that only take about 30 min to recharge and seems to last quite a while. It's a great product. Not as 'solid' as the original Hitachi but certainly not one of those cheap flimsy generic Chinese no name screwdrivers! If I needed another one- or needed to give one as a gift, I'd certainly get another on of these. Hopefully, these Metabo's will last as long as the original Hitachi stuff!

Great for lite to medium use!
Picked this because Project Farm reviewed it a bit back and test showed it was good. No regrets so far! I wasn't looking for a High Torque one, just something that'll get basic screw jobs snug. This will do it! I have used it a lot for everyday things such as building/tweaking my gaming computer, tightening cabinets, assembling IKEA stuff, but more recently electrical work. I've been replacing all the outlets and switches in my house and this thing provides the right amount of torque and battery life needed! It has a nifty light button allowing me to leave it on or off based on my needs, even when not using it. I keep the settings on Low Speed and Max Torque., except for faceplates. Makes things snug. If I need to REALLY torque something, I finish by hand. This isn't crazy high in torque, but will do basic screw jobs well. Don't expect it to act like an impact driver.Only 'CON' so far is I wish it had a battery life indicator on it. But you do get 2 batteries that charge somewhat quick at least.

Simply Amazing!
I really wish I had bought this a long time ago! Before, I would stick a drillbit on my compact drill—with combined weight of battery plus tool, it adds up to over 2 lbs. While I’m accustomed to using the compact drill, it is unwieldy. Then I ordered the Metabo HPT 12v screwdriver…. My life has changed lol! Easy to use, buttons and lightswitch all conveniently placed for easy one handed operation, adjustable clutch is great for torque, batteries lasts a good amount. Plus it is lightweight yet a solid tool (dropped several times from 3’ height, no problem).Highly recommend

Excellent quality, but only one bit included
I had never heard of the brand-name "Metabo" before, but I understand from reading other reviews of this tool that it was formerly sold under the Hitachi brand.I use this tool mainly for electronic device assembly and disassembly, so I do not require a lot of torque. Controlability of a modest amount of torque is what I was really looking for, and this Metabo/Hitachi tool is exactly what I needed. I will also use this tool to install new guitar strings and drum heads using specialized adapters. Using one of the lower torque settings, this Metabo tool is perfect for these delicate operations. This screwdriver is very much like a Milwaukee product that is considerably more expensive. I especially like the versatile torque adjustment and the removable battery. Most of these tools have integral batteries and must be connected to a USB power source to charge them. This model has a removable battery AND comes with a spare, so you can keep using the tool while charging the depleted battery.I probably looked at a dozen different models of electric screwdrivers before finally deciding on the Metabo, and I think I made a good choice. This is a very high quality tool that suits my needs perfectly.HOWEVER, it only comes with ONE bit, a #2 Phillips. I highly recommend that you buy a REXBETI #REX072 twelve-piece bit set to augment the kit. The Rexbeti set is available on Amazon and includes (2) #1, (4) #2, & (2) #3 Phillips tips, and one each 3mm - 6mm straight-slot tips. Each bit is 3 inches long. This is a great set of bits and only costs $10. I suggest you buy both of these items together to have a versatile and high-quality electric screwdriver and bits set.

Great cordless screwdriver
I'm so glad I bought this. So it reviewed on a video, and bought it. I was tired of going out to the garage to get my drill. Now I keep this cordless screwdriver in the house for small jobs. It works well. It has a decent amount of power. I like the variable speeds and power. It comes with two battery packs, which is nice. Very happy with this product.
