SMALLRIG A5000/A5100 Cage for SONY A5000/A5100 with Anti-Twist Design, Cold Shoe - 2226

As another reviewer has pointed out, this is relatively expensive, especially for putting onto what is quite an old camera by now. I decided to get a Smallrig cage for my old a5000 when I realised what a good video camera it was, especially for small scale films. The cage allows you to attach all sorts of bits and pieces and the weight of it is good for overall steadiness in hand held shots. With the cage attached you can access the SD card and battery, add a small LED light, handle etc, plus much more, should you wish to do so. I have used tis camera and cage for various review films and social media type videos that give you more control and slightly better quality over action cams, so I regard this as a good buy and a fairly essential aid to filmmaking.

This cage is awesome. Used with the a5100, I can now add a shotgun mic, zoom H1 and an LED light to my set up.

You actually get a lot fewer design features on this cage than ones they've made for basically any other model. Real shame, limited holes, plain edges, no built in arca or nato rail, resulting in wasted space and limited config. It's also sharp edged to hold near the battery hatch for your pinky finger.It does add some functionality though, but restricted, and for a high price.

Great product

This cage is the perfect addition to my vlogging setup! It's a bit pricey but it's the only cage for the a5000 and a5100 on the market soooo there isn't really anything you can do about that.It also makes the A5000/A5100 much nicer to hold in the hand and the camera without a cage is a little small for my big hands.Generally a great product and happy I bought it.
