Really Handy Lap Desk
I work at home on a full-time basis as a freelance writer. I pretty much exclusively work via my laptop. I also tend to work on my bed, on the couch, on the porch, or in similar spots. (I'm one of those people that just doesn't really dig sitting bolt upright at a proper desk, I guess.) That said, I really needed to upgrade from the old reading cushion I've been using to a proper lap table capable of accommodating my computer. I settled on this one and I'm really glad I did.At first, I wasn't sure about the plain wood as a surface. I was worried the laptop might not stay put properly, but that's not a problem with this at all. It hasn't so much as shifted out of place once, even with all my moving around. I'm also really happy with the width of the desk and the design of the legs. My preferred position for sitting in bed and typing is to sit Indian-style with the laptop on my lap. I can actually position my legs that way underneath this entire desk easily and comfortably. I'm realizing it's MUCH easier to have the computer supported by the desk than my actual legs by a landslide. I'm already feeling certain chronic aches and pains starting to ease up a bit as a result.I also dig the little drawer and the ability the desk's surface has to accommodate a drink or a lunch plate in addition to my computer. I like to have my lunch and/or snacks while I work and now that's easy. The drawer is perfect for stashing my earbuds, pens, phone, or whatever else I might want to keep nearby. This is super easy to adjust if needed or wanted as well. All in all, I'm super happy with the purchase. In fact, I'm thinking of buying one of these for my partner who also likes to work in bed! Awesome product and highly recommended.

best deal!
I've been using the SONGMICS Bamboo Laptop Desk for four years now, and it’s still one of my favorite and most practical purchases! It’s not just great for working on my laptop, but it also makes serving breakfast in bed a luxurious and convenient experience. The bamboo material is both sturdy and beautiful, with a smooth, polished finish that looks elegant. The adjustable tilt feature is perfect for propping up a laptop, book, or even a plate when enjoying breakfast. The foldable legs make it easy to store when not in use, and it’s lightweight enough to move around effortlessly.I love that it has a small storage drawer, which is great for keeping pens, USB drives, or even a napkin when using it for meals. The built-in cup groove helps prevent spills, making it even more practical.Whether I’m using it for breakfast in bed, reading, or working, it has held up amazingly well over time. The quality is excellent, and it still looks as good as new! If you're looking for a stylish and functional laptop desk that doubles as a serving tray, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

Great function, appearance; needs better stability
Overall, I am very happy with this laptop desk, which I’ll use when working from my bed. As detailed below, though, I had to jury-rig a stabilizer for the legs, so they don’t fold in and make the desk collapse when it’s standing on a soft surface and gets moved or jostled.Pros:• The photos on the product page are accurate; it’s as aesthetically pleasing and functional as it appears.• Given that it’s made entirely of (sustainable) wood, it seems likely to hold up better than my two previous laptop desks. They were both made of metal *except* for the pieces that connected the legs to the desk surface and allowed them to rotate. Those critical connectors were made of plastic, and after a few months of use, they broke irreparably — on both desks.• This desk came fully assembled and does not have any of the rough, splintery edges other reviewers have mentioned: All the pieces are fully sanded and smooth.• The drawer is narrow and shallow, but can hold a couple of pens, along with the detachable wooden piece that keeps a laptop from sliding off of the desk when the section of the desk on which it sits is raised (which allows for optimal viewing from a prone position).• The round indentation for a glass or bottle is exactly the right size (about 2.75” in diameter) for my slim glass water bottle.• Other reviewers have complained that it is heavy, but it is crafted of solid wood, which makes it stable and durable — fair trade-offs for the added weight, in my view.Cons:• The legs are designed to allow the user to fold them flat against the bottom of the desk when it’s not in use. However, that means that when they are fully extended and the desk is sitting on a soft surface (like a mattress), they have a tendency to collapse when the desk is moved or jostled. (To be clear, they lock into one of two extended positions with the locking screws provided. The collapse isn’t caused by the legs suddenly getting shorter; it’s caused by the legs — regardless of how short or long you’ve made them — folding in toward the bottom of the desk, where you store them if you want to convert the table into a tray.)The desk would be more fit for purpose if it came with a mechanism to lock the legs into place and keep them from accidentally folding in to turn the table (with legs) into a tray (with no legs), which is why I have given it 4 rather than 5 stars. However, as the attached photo shows, the unintentional collapse problem can be solved by wedging a small piece of wood or metal (I used a couple of nuts) between the top of the leg and the bottom of the desk, which keeps the leg locked into place.Yet to be assessed:• Other reviewers have mentioned that the wood warps over time, or arrived already warped. Mine came warp-free, but I haven’t had it long enough to know whether it will stay that way.

So many features for a bed/couch table.
This table is pretty great! I was looking for a sturdy table to use with my laptop because the one I had would be too wobbly. It would still serve its purpose but it would just be an annoyance with all the wobbliness whenever I moved on the couch. The legs on the Songmics table are way better spread and are able to hold on without shaking as much.It also has a small drawer on the side, which is nice. The tilting top has a very wide range and its fan shaped holes are pretty good at helping keeping my laptop cooler. The quality feels very good, by the way, so it's a very sturdy product overall.
