good quality for money spent
Used these to take a rowboat on a shakedown cruise. They worked fine.

They are great and well priced.
These oars are great. They are lightweight, and were priced below anything else I could find locally or online. I have been out about 5 times with them rowing a 14 foot aluminum boat. No complaints. The 2 piece design is great for storage and travel, but it does have a little play while rowing. That is just the trade off of having a two piece design though.

Good value for the money
I live, full time on a small sailboat, anchored on the Gulf Coast of Florida, about 100 yards or so from a local boat ramp. For the last couple of years I've been using a kayak paddle with my cockleshell dinghy. Some days it's not easy since I'm 78 years old and have severe COPD. There are days I don't leave my boat because the wind would make it impossible for me to buck it. I always knew oars would give me more power, but lack of funds and simple inertia jept me with the paddle.Finding myself with a little extra cash I decided to spend it on some oars. At first I wanted wooden oars. That's what REAL oars were in my mind. But have you seen how much those things COST??? For quite a while I looked for oars on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace but didn't find anything. The option boiled down to getting some metal oars. The West Marine catalogue shows an adjustable metal oar for $59. But that's just for ONE!Then I saw these on Amazon and sprung for it. They arrived way before the expected delivery date. The biggest reason for one-star ratings for these oars are the plastic oarlocks. While they seem substantial enough to me, I don't like bolt on oarlocks and bought a set at a local hardware. You know, the kind that look like horseshoes. What a difference these things make in my life. Yesterday I went to the boat ramp to refill my water jugs and the trip took less than a third of the time it would with the paddle. Best of all, with my COPD I did the whole trip without stopping to catch my breath.Usually I'd have to stop once or twice while paddling. Returning to my boat I was rowing against a bit of a headwind and against the ebbing tidal current. I made the trip in half the time it would have taken with the paddle and when I got back "home" I didn't have to hang on for five minutes while my breathing returned to what passed for normal these days.I am VERY please with these oars. They seem very well made and I expect they'll serve me very well in the days to come. I'd buy them again and I recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive set of oars.

Perfect for a small boat
Husband is well pleased. We haven't had them long enough for a true sturdiness score but so far they are holding up well.

Great for travel
These are some of the best oars I've used, for camping with a small boat. They are fairly light and well balanced, and move water well when needed. They are also sturdy enough to rely on to keep your boat moving in rough water, without any noticeable give or slop at the joint. I have an older pair with metal oarlocks, but if the newer models are plastic, they should hold up just as well I assume. I've also raked them over rocks a couple times without damaging them. I haven't had to see if they really float yet, but that would be great if I ever dropped one in the water. The foam handles also seem pretty durable.

Buy these for the oars only
Sturdy, well made oars. Forget the oar locks they give you, they are plastic and break the first time you use them. I expected that as I read others reviews. Instead I cut an old bicycle tire inner tube and wrapped it around the oars where I wanted to mount metal oar locks and then clamped the metal oar locks over the rubber. It works great. You think the Mfger would get a clue. Anyway, great upscale oars, but the oar locks that come with them suck.
