I would recommend NOT buying from this company. The product arrived with broken plastic pieces and black scuff marks on the side. It looked used and abused. I'm glad I've seen this product though, because it is certifiably a low quality, piece of junk.

Item had a defective volume control the first time we tried to use it. Instrument would start with an extremely high volume even with the control at the lowest setting. Contacting the seller has so far no resulted in anything except emails promising to look into the issue. I have been using the Raagini digital tambura purchased in India for the past 2 years and never had a problem with it. This is my second tambura and it's been giving me grief from the time we received it. Looks like Raagini is compromising on the quality of the parts which is unfortunate. Not a happy camper...

okay tone, though has a slight digital low sample rate sound like that of a low quality mp3. Some noise is noted at low volume. I have the metal box older version, which seems to boast higher build quality than this plastic box. Overall it is a very useful item for those who lack a live tanpura player. I have numerous apps and software on my computer and Iphone and this unit seems to be more convenient.
