Shadow Makers (AKA Fat Man and Little Boy)

I will rate "Fat Man and Little Boy" over "Oppenheimer"
I have watched this movie a few times over the years. The movie Oppenheimer came out and I watched on 4K video. For me, the Fat Man and Little Boy is better of the two Movies

Development of atomic bomb
Good movie of making of first atomic bomb. Liked the details of the risk of exposure to radioactive materiall and the horrible health effects to a scientist. Also some of the politics and pressure on the scientist and officer in charge of the project

Outstanding historical piece. Good acting.
Outstanding historical story with great actors. While some may argue about some fine points, the basics are correct and well presented. This version was important for me because it had subtitles which I need in order to get all the fine points due to a hearing problem. Really improved the movie for me (I have seen it without subtitles). Good price. Too bad that other movies covering this period are ridiculously expensive.

A good introduction to the Manhattan project but...
I quite enjoyed this film when it first came out although as I recall it sunk like a rock at the box office. With the arrival of the new film Oppenheimer I decided to take a second look at it. I think it does a better job of addressing the technical and physics issues that the scientists were facing. But as one who had studied the story at great lengths years ago, although it well addresses events in the story there were so many gaps that it did not tell a "good story" which is why, I think, it sunk like a rock as if you don't know more about the story it was hard to follow it as presented in the film. It is mostly a look at the project itself whereas the Oppenheimer film is more a look at the man himself and his life issues.

Building the A-Bombs.
Excellent television telling of the designs and development of both the gun-type and implosion type atomic bombs dropped on Japan at the end of World War II. In many respects (particularly dealing with the science), superior to the Acadamy Award winning Oppenheimer.
