Shimano Fishing reels are as good as it gets.
“Value for money”If you are trying to compare reel to reel such as a Stradic to a Sedona. This reel is not for you, however Shimano makes this reel as cheap as it can be and still able to experience the core qualities of a Shimano reel. Yes, it is cheaper which means that it is made from less durable material, you have to do your part and take care of them, if you expect to fish and submerge you reel in murky water or saltwater, at some point it’s going to give you problems. Take good care of your fishing gears, thoroughly rinse and dry them before you store them in a dry cool place, even those expensive reels require good handling and service.I’ve owned stradic, sedona, sustain, ultegra for years so I know they are good product.

THIS THING IS SICK
I paired this puppy up with my St. Croix premier series 6'6'' ultralight with 4 pound spider wire mono and oh my word this thing can smoke some pan fish. As the reel goes, the drag is amazing and doesn't slip when your going to make that hook set. Also, this thing can handle bigger fish, I caught a three pound small mouth on it and it worked great! Definitely recommend.

Reel binds with load
The reel is smooth without a load on it , but try to retrieve a lure and it binds up . I had the same problem with a Shimano Nasci 500 . I think it’s the Hagane gearing in these small reels .My Sienna 500 is a smoother reel .

thought it would last longer
Used this the last few months for blue gill, crappie and a few bass. Fished with 6lb braid. Real seized up on me while fishing for crappie today. Pretty frustrating. I assumed this would last longer than 3 months of moderate use.
