My husband commented after it arrived and he saw the packaging how he hoped it was a good quality bed
My 10 year old daughter wanted a loft bed with a desk for Christmas. This was really the only thing she asked for. We looked at several online and this was the one she wanted. Even after searching several other sites. Normally, I read reviews before ordering. This time I did not. My husband commented after it arrived and he saw the packaging how he hoped it was a good quality bed. At this point, and without mentioning it to him, I did read the reviews. I saw a couple of good reviews but honestly they made me nervous but I had to wait until after Santa delivered and we put it together to see what was what.As we opened the box to get everything out, I was quite nervous. Because I had read about missing parts, things not lining up and extra holes. We laid everything out by the instructions, even the screws. We followed them step by step with me holding my breath the entire time. We had NO PROBLEMS at ALL! Everything was there, everything lined up, everything was just like it appeared with the exception of the additional shelf. And the shelf didn't matter anyway because we were buying it for the desk. It only shakes a small amount but my husband said that's should be expected. He did but pipe insulation around the steps to make them more comfortable. They are narrow but with the extra padding work great. Our daughter has stayed in her room almost nonstop since this bed was put up. I would definitely recommend this bed for the money.

A good purchase. Like both bed and desk.
Got this and assembled in a couple hours. It is very solid. Most beds have a little jiggle/sway. Those small motions get magnified in a taller structure but it's still no big deal. By comparison, this is much more solid and less squeaky than the ubiquitous stacking wooden beds that many of us had in the 70s.As with many such projects, it's great to have a cordless drill/screw driver when you are making this. The small shelf in the picture is not there, but the desk is large and really useful (great as a desk and strengthens the structure). As others have indicated, the ladder is a bit uncomfortable. We used foam pipe insulation around it and my daughter thinks it's great. The bed is in a corner, and we also used some of the same kind of foam padding to pad the top corner of the bunk (wrapped around the back corner of the top of one leg). This is because the baseboards keep the corner leg about 3/8 inches away from the corner of the walls. A little padding up top closes that gap and helps stabilize the bed.*The support bars for the mattress come with clever, strong plastic clips that help minimize noise, vibrations, and movement.*We painted the black squares on the top rails the same lavender color as my daughter's room. It rally softened the bed's appearance and tied it into the room.*We used a 5" thick mattress, but after seeing it in place, we would have had no worries with a 6" mattress.

Decent bed frame for the price
Purchased this for my 13 year old daughter, as she wanted more space in her bedroom and this included a desk. Arrived quickly and without major damage. Was relatively easy to assemble, on par with similar categories of tube steel furniture. It's shaky and creaky like I would expect based on the construction, but it doesn't feel like it's going to break. Actually works to my advantage because I can shake it hard enough to wake the child up when she oversleeps. The desk is sturdy, although it could be just a little deeper. It is deep enough to accommodate a monitor, keyboard, and mouse for a computer though, and a laptop would also fit with a little room in front. My only real complaint was the ladder is made from 1" square tube, which is really hard on the feet. I ended up cutting sections of 1x6 to length, then cutting notches in the ends to fit over the vertical tubes to make the ladder more comfortable.Overall, can't beat it for the price if your expectations are appropriate and you have the knowledge and tools to correct the horrible ladder design.

Great Price/OK Bed
Overall this loft is ok. It could be more sturdy but not bad for the price. It did not take long to put together, but the directions were just pictures with no words or tips. Before buying, I thought I had read where the ladder was reversible, but it was not. Also there was no shelf above the desk as shown in the pic. The pictures on Amazon were rotten.....they are lucky I took a chance and bought it for as low quality and few pictures as they had. This loft was the best solution for me though because I already had a mattress and frame to go underneath and I did not want to buy more than what I needed. I found an RV 66" ladder that I purchased later to work for the ladder issue and I am happy with that $50 purchase because it is safer anyway for my daughter to climb up. It looks nice and my daughter likes it and fits perfect in the small rooms with tall ceilings.

Much better than expected... easier than ikea, and sturdy to boot
Share a bedroom with my son and not enough room for 2 beds.. didnt expect it to be so sturdy... i have a queen size bed tucked under this (opposite direction of twin) and it fits nice.. about 16 inches to spare...where i keep a trash can and laundry basket. Surprisingly i can have a drink on the shelf and my 75 pound son dosnt spill it climbing the ladder or wallaring in his bed. This thing is super heavy, over 100 pounds and comes in a million pieces.. HOWEVER every piece is labeled with a sticker and putting it together with the instructions was a breeze... i actually put off putting this thing together for weeks cuz i thought it would be a headache but it only took about 45 minutes. Only con I can list is the included wrench is pretty shoddy pot metal and rounded on me... theres no way you will get the bolts to proper torque with the little allen wrench anyways so use the included allen wrench to find yourself the right allen head socket or t handle allen wrench and youll do a much better job putting it together. Anyone who says this bed isnt study probably hand tightened all the bolts with the little tiny included allen wrench and 80% of them came loose soon from not being properly tightened.
