Great bike rack: FullTilt 4 is slightly better than Thule Apex 4
Great product that is well engineered and very, very functional. The FullTilt 4 and the Thule Apex 4 are very close competitors and both are great. Both are easy to install into a 2" inch hitch and both carry bikes well. The advantage for the Apex 4 is that the straps are fastened to the bike rack so there aren't any separate straps to use. (with either rack, however, you should buy and use additional velcro straps to secure the bikes to each other and minimize them from swinging/bumping each other when driving on the road for long distances. Other users cut and use the pool foam noodles to minimize scratches and bike banging.) The straps have set holes so there will be some compromise if they aren't as tight as you want them to be when you fasten the bike. Also, the "No Sway Cage" cradle can slide off if you move them too far. I got the Yakima because it has the "Zip Strips" and have more room to get a really tight fit of the bikes on the rack. I used the Yakima rack on a small trip and it worked great! I also like how the cradles adjust on the Yakima bike rack vs the the rubber cradles that slide on the Thule rack. I give the Yakima 5 stars and the Thule 4 stars.

Easy to use, woudn't buy another type of bike rack!
This is amazing. Super easy to use, easy to put the bikes on, holds all 4 bikes.....we use it on the back of our RV and the back of our vehicles, interchangeably with no problems. We have 2 mountain bikes and 2 road bikes, and they all fit with just a few snaps. There are some extra straps to lock down the wheels of the bikes so that they don't bang around while on the road. I had to call customer support once (the way it locks is to allow the locking mechanism to spin freely, so that was a tad bit confusing until I understood the idea) and they were wonderful and walked me through everything on the phone. One key works for everything on the mounting system, and it comes with bike locks so you don't have to make yours fit or stretch or any of those previous problems. It folds down and can be stored in a small space. It is expensive - but worth it if you want the convenience and ease of use!

Solid product
UPDATE 5/8/2015: The replacement unit from Yakima has worked perfect. It's actually much easier to use than the original which leads me to believe there may have a defect on the original. New unit fits into the hitch receiver easier, tightens and loosens via the bottom knob much easier, and overall has worked perfect all spring. Upping the review to 4 starts, and it'll earn a solid 5 stars if it lasts a couple seasons.###UPDATE 3/11/2015: I contacted Yakima's support about the problems and they identified the problem as a stripped threading in the hitch mechanism. They quickly shipped me out a replacement unit which arrived 2 days later. The replacement unit works good and is even a little easier to use than the original, maybe they've made some subtle improvements? I'm concerned the design will lead to stripped threading after a number of uses again though.. but I hope not. Either way, my hat is off to Yakima's Oregon based support department which really handled this matter extremely well with the smallest amount of effort from me to get a new working unit in my hands quickly.###The concept of the hitch/locking mechanism is a good idea; however, in practical use it's really challenging to use. The whole system is very heavy and because of the way the tightening mechanism floats before it's inserted into the hitch it's quite difficult to insert it. I have to hold the mechanism down with my thumb while balancing this 50lb beast of a rack in my other arm and pushing it into the hitch simultaneously while simultaneously trying to not pinch my thumb. For the first season, the tightening mechanism (that keeps it sturdy inside the hitch) worked pretty well, although it took some force to get it tight enough so it didn't wobble around. 2nd season (6 months after purchase) the mechanism is so difficult to turn it requires a pipe wrench to make it turn and tighten. (turns out it was stripped, see update below)Far and away it's the most difficult bike rack I've used to date. My last rack from Thule had a hole in the receiver where you would put a tightening bolt through the holes in the receiver and tighten it down with a small wrench. Took 2 minutes to install vs 10+ minutes for this one. That was a far superior design to this one.

Same as Tesla’s model Y rack without the extra cost
Easy to setup and holds bikes in place. Not sure if I can actually fit 4 full size bikes yet but works well for now. Also, it’s the actual brand of tesla’s oem bike rack but at a fraction of the price.

It installs incredibly easily and the latch points easily adjust when you're doing ...
I am hugely impressed with this rack. It installs incredibly easily and the latch points easily adjust when you're doing the dance to fit all your bikes on the thing. It's super strong but not unwieldy. I am no strongman and I have zero difficulty installing this. I love the knob to secure the rack to the hitch - so easy. (As for the complaints of this thing getting loose, I have to wonder if the users have locked the knob. Once you lock the knob it disengages from the interior tightening mechanism and spins freely. Which means it can't come lose. Not assuming that's what was needed in those other cases, but know that you have to lock the knob in order to, well, lock it in at its tightest.) The steel fin on the underside of this thing is another killer design element from Yakima - with so much tender hardware on the underbelly of this rack, an abrupt smack on the pavement going over a speed bump or crossing a slight depression leaving a parking lot would be catastrophic. So there's this fin to protect the rack in just that situation. I've, uh, I've needed it three times. I happen to love the zip strips. I get that they can be easily lost, but they cannot be beat for ease of use. And I love the integrated cable - not unique to this rack, but nice. This rack may be more than I need, frankly. I'm driving a car whose hatchback can actually open without lowering the rack out of the way. Can't tell if that would be the case with any other one. In any event, I love using this thing and our family has already enjoyed it on several trips.

Sturdy rack for the whole family
Hefty and sturdy rack that fits bikes for the whole crew. The security features are very nice for peace of mind when you make a quick stop while loaded. Yakima is a solid brand. Very happy with the purchase.

Excellent quality
Can be a small challenge to insert into receiver but loading bikes is smooth. Unit looks great and is very sturdy. My only suggestion would be a Yakima kit bag to store the accessories.
