utg 2nd gen hk stanag steel claw mount made to fit stg 44 (schmeisser gsg-stg44)
This IS the mount for the stg 44 (schmeisser gsg-stg44), not kidding, it is an exact fit, as if it were specifically engineered for it, I spent 3 or 4 days and countless hours trying to find feedback or manufacturer information on what mounts would work with my stg 44, the manufactures provide nothing, how hard could it be for the manufacturer to buy one of each of gun that it has developed the mount for, or the gun manufacturer to buy one of each of the mount that is common and test it on their product. Well apparently way too hard, or they just can't be bothered by something as mundane as a potential customer. Anyway, this claw mount fits on my stg 44 and can't be budged, it gently goes on but firmly holds and even the top of the mount is firm against the gun (zero air space, no wiggle room, the whole claw is like a perfect vise for this model gun, yet you can use your little finger to push the lever down to lock it on, no excessive force required), so I tend to think that the stg 44 was one of the guns the claw was specifically made to use with.Oh well, after 3 to 4 days and probably 20 hours plus hours searching I did find one customer review that said, this claw mount worked with the stg 44, so I ordered one and he was right :)

Not bad, Not great either
Purchased this since the actual HK mount is $249 and just way overpriced for my budget. I did have to do some modifications to the claw mount in order to get it to fit snuggly. Had to file down the lever a bit to get it to snap into place and replaced the screws that held the picatinny rail with a lower profile screw I found at a local hardware store. Used some loctite to hold the screws in place since I wasn't able to use the lock washers. With the original screws, it was hitting the rear sight on both my V93 and HK91, however it fit perfectly on my CETME rifle.Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. The mount is very sturdy but took a little work to get it to fit.

Lucky X 2
I purchased one of these mounts sometime back for my PTR91 and mounted a scope on it. it dropped right on with no fitting. That mount has lasted about 500 rounds now and I take it off every time I put my rifle in the case and it still mounts up solid and holds zero. I decided to get a second mount for a red dot. That one also mounts up just fine. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it seems to be just like the first mount that I purchased so I'm guessing that it will be just as solid and durable. I like these mounts because the rifle was designed for these types of mounts, these are affordable and they work well for this rifle. I can still use the iron sights on my rifle with them mounted if I want to. All I have to do is drop the cheek riser down and go. Of course, they are easy to just remove if you like. I'm not sure why some folks are having issues with them, but they work fine for me. FWIW my PTR 91 is an early 2000's generation with an "A" serial number. Not sure if that makes any difference, but maybe it will help someone. These are also great rifles that are easy to reconfigure. Just pop out 2 or 3 pins and you can swap buttstocks, trigger groups and forends in a matter of seconds.

POOR Fit on a real HK 7.62 rifle
Required extensive work to make it work on my HK. Claw could NOT lock due to oversized rotating clamp feet on claw. Needed substantial filing of mounting locks. Also required that the protruding G3 alignment tab need to be ground off, using a bench grinder. (This is not something the average person can do) The alignment tab is located on the opposite side in the photo so it is actually hidden from view. Picatinny rail screw head is so large that it actually blocks installation by coming in contact with the rotating rear sight.Overall I can't see how I could rate this anything more than a one star.I would have to assume that UTG has no idea what quality control is? Or maybe they don't have a real HK to test fit any of their claw mounts? If you have fairly good gunsmith skills? Then it won't be too hard to get it to work on your HK. Took me about 20 min. work it to a good fit. (Be very careful) Because it is so out of specs, it will damage your rifle if you attempt to force it on.But if you don't want File and grind down this mount to fit? Then spend a little extra and save yourself the headache!! buy an A.R.M.S of real HK claw! You'll be glad that you did!!I know some reviews state a perfect fit? But I can only assume that the Quality varies so much that you might be a lucky one to have one that fits? The amount of material I needed to remove was shocking!!

Good attempt but not up to spec
Purchased for an H&K SP5 MP5These are 2019 genuine HK MP5s and to the absolute milspec dimensions for the STANAG receiver lugs.First note that the mount is of good quality, and has heft. A high glass black finish contrast with the genuine thing. Otherwise it is a very good imitation and won't break the bank yet still gives you the original classic look. This would be good if only the mount was level. It mates up very easy and locks down right BUT leans cantered 6 degrees to the right. This is a flaw and there is now adjustment for the lopsidided rail. It appears that the tension bar is slightly too short. Torquing hard on the lever will actually align the mount but as soon as you release the tension it flops back clockwise ever so slightly and locks. You can give the rail and create some shims on the right side to manually level out your scope but this is a pretty janky solution and not up to par with the weapon system. Overall I'm glad I have the option but it's shortcomings keep it from being anything short of a novelty.
