Q: Are spare gaskets available?

CampingMaxx always has stock of spare gaskets.

Q: Does the spout have a cap? (It would be inconvenient to attach the spout every time I filled my lawn mower with gas.) Thanks.

It has a cap sort of but I don't like it. Actually the gas won't spill with the spout on because the end of the spout has to be pressed to over come a spring that keep gas from coming out. When you insert the spout and press down (like on my honda generator) you can't see how fast the gas is coming out or how full your tank is until everything overflows. I bought a bendable spout that can be attached instead so you can see how much gas is in the tank you are filling. But then the extra spout I bought doesn't have a cap so you're back to square one, needing a cap. I put my cap on every time and take it off when finished, its not hard to do.

Q: Any problems with rusing inside ?

I have had no problems with rusting. It is coated on the inside and i have had no problems. The fuel can is used for spare fuel while riding my thirsty ATV and a spare gas can in the other car. I also have 3 of the 5 gallon cans too and no problems.

Q: Never heard back from seller, was trying to order, but it says can't ship to my home address in san diego, ca, why not?

California has an array of regulations beyond U.S. federal regulations regarding fuel containers, and San Diego may have additional ones beyond California's. I wouldn't ship to California either, if I were selling jerry cans.
