It kills the occasional fly or two but it is not highly effective, flies generally tend to "Walk on By." They don't seem to be drawn to the light. Maybe because it is not as bright as other products seeing as it has only one lamp and others have two or three. I admit it is good to look at ( this is apart from the socket position that sticks out like a sore thumb) . . . . . . Oh no. . . they won't highlight this design flaw in the pretty pictures. I have seen much cheaper machines work more efficiently. I feel I am just running up my electricity bill.
