Q: Can you view the picture with the screen flush against the camera? Or does it swivel out? Confused.

the screen can "swivel" 180deg, and it can also rotate 180deg (actually it can rotate more like 270deg.) this allows you to either1) shoot with the screen "swiveled" out to the side of the camera, rotated in many different angles, OR 2)shoot with the swivel screen flush against the camera body, like most screens, OR 3)shoot using the optical viewfinder and with the screen shut, protecting the screen from any possible damage that may occur, especially during transport or storage. the swivel screen is PRICELESS for shooting at low or high, otherwise impossible, angles. it is a big part of the videographer world, but i bet photographers will learn to use this to their advantage with Live View. NOTE - the screen is nearly impossible to see in bright daylight. you can swivel the screen to avoid this sometimes, or you can buy a LCD shade/viewfinder. there are many on the market, depending on what features you desire and how much you are willing to pay. good luck.

Q: I had the T2i before, but now i got the T4i, which is a nice upgrade. In the T2i there is a A-deep mode in the wheel, where is that option in the T4i? Can anyone let me know? Thanks!

Canon decided to remove the A-Dep mode from the T4i to make room for new modes on the dial. They claimed that A-Dep was very rarely used and pretty much obsolete for DSLRs.As a replacement for A-Dep, you can shoot in AV mode and vary the aperture setting with the dial in order to change the depth of field. You can also try 'shifting the program' in P mode using the dial to get a smaller or larger aperture to adjust the depth of field.

Q: Does the t4i have a built in focus motor to work with non-USM lenses?

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but here goes.The T4i WILL auto focus with any EF or EFS mount lens. USM or not. USM is simply the Ultrasonic Motor feature in the mid range to higher tier lenses. It is NOT compatible with older film body lenses with the FD mount, unless of course you get an adapter. FD mount lenses will NOT auto focus on an EF mount style body.To give an example of a NON-USM lens, the Canon EF 50mm f1.8 is NOT a USM lens. This lens DOES have auto-focus built in and is compatible with the Canon T4i.The Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM is a USM lens (and much easier to work with). Which will also auto-focus when used on the T4i.I hope this helps.
