This toilet needed a good review
I was pretty selective when looking through toilets. I wanted something that didn't break the bank, electric (to replace my old electric), and had a good macerator. This seemed to be pretty good reviews, and the youtube series that Jabsco put out a few years ago goes into detail about replacing parts, so it seemed servicable. My old electric was a 20 year old Raritan Crown Head CD Discharge series. That toilet is $1800 new, and you can tell the difference immediately with them side by side. The Raritan is HEAVY. The discharge port is 1-1/2" ID on the Raritan, which is thicker than on this Jabsco. The macerator on the Raritan was also much larger (but broken thus the replacement). The 1" Jabsco discharge port seems tiny in comparison. My biggest complaint with the Jabsco is going to be the width of the hosing.Due to the discharge port being on the side and the inlet being on the other side, I was required to construct 2 ninety degree angles (one for the inlet and one for the discharge) in order to fit my hoses (which come straight out the back of the toilet). Jabsco sells a 90 degree discharge connector (part 37077-1000), however it would take 2 weeks to ship at the local marina, and I found I could construct a similar part at home depot for considerably less cost. However, this is where the size of the discharge port becomes a minor issue. Due to the right angle discharge adaptor, the width decreases a small amount, but over time I could see this becoming a problem with clogging. The toilet holds a small amount of water in the bottom. As soon as the button is pressed down, there is a suction action that pulls the water+waste into the macerator which is also activated (like a garbage disposal) from the button press. A short while later, the water begins to trickle down the sides of the bowl to refill the bowl. The cleaning action of the water inlet is pretty poor, I've found it necessary to wipe down the inside bowl after use (which isn't always the case with nicer marine toilets). The noise is considerably less than the Raritan, so that was a plus. Anyone complaining about the noise has to be crazy. My water and shower pumps make about the same amount of noise. It has handled what its been asked to do, hopefully that continues to be the case.If you don't have a switch wired already, this switch doesn't come with wires to connect so that may be neccesary. As far as the "sleeve" they give you for the inlet hose, its a simple piece of cylindrical plastic. I was a little disappointed as I needed 3/4 ID hosing. The seat is not well fastened to the base. It uses a plastic screw with a clamp that doesn't hold well. This is a good budget toilet. As a live aboard I am curious how much abuse it can take, but as a weekender upgrade it has a good use.

New Marine toilet leaks, no product support
Easy to install. However, started dripping from the motor assembly. Contacted seller who basically said we just sell them, contact the manufacturer. They gave me a phone number(which was not the correct place) I was referred to another number, tech support, where you can only leave voicemails. I have received no response and tried calling multiple times. UPDATE: Jabsco called back and is sending a new unit in two weeks, they are currently out. Will update review once product is received and installed and working. Good response by Paul at Jabsco

Great marine toilet... with one flaw.
This is the second one of these I bought. It works really well as long as you take care of the pump/chopper assembly. The bowl. lid and mounting assembly are well made and will last. The pump/chopper unit started leaking at the seals after 5 years or so on the first one. I tried to repair it with a limited overhaul kit that was available at the time, but it continued to leak. The shaft in the assembly did not appear to be adequately lubricated, causing the wear. The pump assembly costs almost as a new toilet, so I opted just to buy a new one.

Works well for the price.
Works great! This is the second one we've purchased. The installation takes awhile (I did not do that part). Make sure you have enough water pumping into the toilet otherwise the motor may burn out. We have two heads in our 38' boat, the back head required an additional water hose to be included because the toilet sits too far away from the water level. The front head works fine so far without the extra water as it sits closer to the water in the tanks.

Electric Pump Marine Toilet
Big improvement over the old pump style toilet. Had to turn the pump clock wise to get the new unit to fit. Not hard to do. The toilet installs fairly easily. The pump outlet fitting for the sea water is 1/2" dia. and the hose goes to a 5/8" male intake to the toilet. If you use the hose they supply they have installed a spacer inside the hose to make up the difference. If you change the hose out you may have some problems getting the connection to seal. The toilet works great but the grinder is a little on the loud side when you flush.

Very Loud But Gets the Job Done
I bought this toilet to replace a similar one on a boat that I recentlybought. The original toilet (1999) had the old style base and it was cracked. It also needed rebuilding. I decided to replace it completely. Since the boat had enough space, I ordered the toilet with the regular seat, rather than the original's compact seat. The toilet fit perfectly and hooked right up to the existing wires and hoses. Ads a result of the new base design, I had to drill an additional mounting hole in front and seal two aft mounting holes that went unused. This toilet works well but it is extremely loud. The noise is the reason that I only gave it 3 stars.

Good quality, worth the price
Works very, very good. installed in a 22x70 houseboat,(5 year use update at the end of the review) the install was super easy. It's a bit loud when flushing but not unbearable. I think it's due to the strong maceration motor. But i can sacrifice a little noise for something that works as strong as this toilet.UPDATE: it's now been 5 years and still works like the day I bought it without any issues whatsoever. A long lasting product!

No more stress about clogging!
We installed this on our commercial fishing vessel 5 months ago and have had ZERO issues with clogging, leakage, or smell! We also replaced all the sanitation lines to the through hull.. So if you’re having issues with this toilet, try that first. Ours were quite old and had built up enough deposit that the hole in our 1.5” line was smaller than 1/8”.

Comfortable but very noisy
The toilet is a much nicer size than our previous head. Quite comfortable to sit on. Only complaint is that it is very noisy to flush. I am going to hire someone to make a noise/sound insulation cover for the pump area.
