From Flailing to Fairway: A Golf Gadget That’s Actually Handy
Right, I’ll be honest—my golf swing used to look more like a confused octopus trying to hail a taxi. So, when I saw the Golf Swing Arm Connection Band for less than a tenner, I thought, why not give the poor octopus a chance to evolve?Straight out of the packet, it’s a lightweight, stretchy band that looks like something you'd use in yoga rather than golf. But don't let its simplicity fool you—this little strap is determined to hold your elbows accountable and sort out that erratic swing you've been calling "unique."What does it actually do?It connects your arms to help keep that classic triangle shape through your backswing and follow-through. At first, it felt a bit odd—like I was being gently hugged by a stubborn gym instructor. But that sensation is part of the magic. The awkwardness isn’t the band’s fault, it’s your old habits putting up a fight. What really impressed me was the inclusion of YouTube tutorial videos accessed via a QR code. These walk you through drills and explain what you should be feeling. The tone is encouraging, not robotic, and helps you get past the “why am I doing this in my garden with the neighbours watching” phase.Pros:- Budget-friendly – At around £9, it’s cheaper than a round of golf... or a pint at some clubhouses.- Lightweight and portable – Easy to chuck in your golf bag and forget about until your swing starts misbehaving.- Good build quality – The elastic feels robust and hasn’t stretched out like my patience during bunker practice.- Helpful video tutorials – A smart addition that adds real value, especially for beginners or rusty returners.Cons:- Uncomfortable at first – Not painful, just unfamiliar. Give it time.- May not suit all training preferences – It’s a basic aid, not a miracle worker.- Wrist bracer could be more adjustable – Not a dealbreaker, but could do with a bit more flexibility for larger wrists.Tips:- Use it for slow, focused swing drills rather than full-speed whacking. This is about feel, not force.- Combine it with mirror work or video yourself to see posture improvements.- Stick with it! The first few tries may feel off, but that’s usually a sign it’s correcting bad habits.Final verdict:This is a nifty little training aid that gently nudges your body back into decent swing mechanics. It won’t turn you into Rory overnight, but it might just stop you slicing into the trees quite so often. For under a tenner, it’s a no-brainer if you’re looking to clean up your technique without investing in a lesson.A straightforward, effective tool that might just help your swing look less like interpretive dance and more like actual golf.

Nice golf improvement tool
Only just started using this, feels a little weird at first but that's more to do with my current poor swing. I love the video tutorials that can be accessed on YouTube via a QR code supplied. I'm really hoping this is going to help me improve my golf, time will tell. Well made product and good value for money.
