Flanders PrecisionAire 10255.012424 24 by 24 by 1 Flat Panel Heavy Duty Spun Glass Air Filter

Just received these and was surprised they are white not blue and the metal "frame" is only on one side. Very hard to find this size filter and are using these because our heating/a/c person said to use this type filter in the summer when the a/c runs a lot here in the desert. This is for a 5 ton unit and it is big. We tried one filter without the metal and it got sucked up by the force of the blower. Although I do change the filter monthly, I like the light color so I can see how much dirt/debris gets picked up by the filter. In the fall and winter we use the corrugated filters because unit does not run nearly as much compared to summer. House should have had 2 units and not one great big unit but costs too much to reconfigure for dual air. I think these are very pricey for what you get.

I have a 2000 ft condo served by an air handler on the far side of the unit. My HVAC person cautioned against using the allergen filters because the filter blocked so much air flow, it affected the temperatures of the rooms on the opposite side of the home. He recommended this type of filter. After a few months of buying one month at a time, I decided to go all in and buy a year's worth. Hope this helps!
