I keep it in a Tupperware. In a room that is not extremely hot like the basement. I read that freezing and refrigerating it causes the chocolate to breakdown.

If, however, you buy them from a retail facility which then re-packages them after purchasing them wholesale, you should enquire of that particular vendor if they do the repackaging in a facility which also processes wheat products in the same area.
