Beautiful, high quality cribbage board. Love that it stores not only the pegs, but cards as well. Just wish it had the "Skunk" line on it.

When I think of a travel family game, I think of a smaller version of the game with cheap pieces stored inside a flimsy container. This is the opposite of that. Larger, heavier, and better construction then the old cribbage boards you are probably used too.It was easy to see that this would be a quality item when I first picked up the shirk wrapped cribbage box. I opened the box and the cribbage board itself was also shrink wrapped. Measuring 15 1/4 inches, this cribbage set was larger then what I was used too. The board is attached to the storage box via a pair of hinges and include a pair of magnets to hold the board closed. 2 sets of playing cards and a box of metal pegs are held in place within a foam insert. The bottom of the exterior of the box is felt lined and moves well across smooth surfaces. The painted cribbage track is slightly raised with a texture that opposes the smooth wood of the box itself. The metallic pegs are 1 1/4 inch and have a nice solid weight to them. This thing is extremely nice. Also included are a brief rule book and 2 year, unconditional warranty. I have never played 3 or 4 player cribbage before, but I am excited to try!All in all, this is a fantastic cribbage set. Is it ideal for travel play? Not really. Would I still travel with it? Oh yes, time for some 4 player cribbage!!

My husband and I play 2 player cribbage all the time. We've got a beautiful custom board that we take with us on our travels. Somehow we never knew you could play 4 player cribbage with the appropriate board. His dad mentioned playing it with friends so next time we visited him we played 4 player and it was just as fun as 2 player. Once we got home we knew we needed our own 4 player board. We grabbed this one and it is perfect. The board is high quality wood with a magnetic closure. The inside has cutouts for storing two decks of cards and the box of pegs. The cards it came with are not very high quality but they're standard size so easily replaceable. The pegs are very high quality and heavy duty. No worries about them breaking. This set does come with instructions though we already knew how to play so we didn't use them. Overall we're very happy with this beautiful, functional set. Definitely consider if you're in the market for a larger board for 4 players.
