Excellent router as part of a Mesh Network
I purchased this router with the intent to build an outdoor Mesh network. I am using the larger AX 1800 as the main router and two AC 1200's as nodes. Coverage and data speed are impressive and far outpace my needs. I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. The setup was easy though the internet interface. Once the setup is complete, going back and making changes is easy to do and allows for fine tuning. The instructions that come with equipment in print are sufficient, but the company has a wealth of (free) information online as well. Best of all, customer support is extremely responsive and easy to deal with.

Will need a different cable for outdoor use
PROS:- Versatile use (router, access point, or repeater)- Gigabit WAN and LAN portsCONS:- When rubber plug for outdoor use is in place, compresses and bends boot of included cableI will address the con right away, as without it this would have been a 5/5 review (and still is if one is using it indoors). The included cable is not suitable for use with the rubber plug in place that is required for outdoor use. As can be seen in one of the included images, it compresses and bends the boot of the included Ethernet cable, which could lead to damage of the internal wiring. When looking at the image I included, keep in mind the rubber plug is not in the final position, and the cable would be further compressed and bent when the cap was screwed into place. A cable with no boot or a truncated boot on at least one end should have been included.I had debated still giving this unit 5 stars, but given that I had an older unit where they did the same, they have had plenty of time to address this issue and it would have been quite simple to do so.If one is using the unit indoors, the rubber plug can be omitted, removing the issue. The included cable was also folded rather than coiled, which can stress the wires, increasing the chances of an internal break of some of the strands. This is a minor issue, however, and continuity still tested good for all conductors.I already had an older AC600 WAVLINK unit, so I temporarily mounted both near my router for comparison testing. Testing was performed outside my home at a distance. This new unit gave slightly better signal results than the older 2 antenna unit, although not substantially so. It was outperformed in the 2.4 GHz band by my router (which has internal antennas) although it bested for the 5 GHz band. (See included image of WiFiman app results). In summation, signal strength compared to other devices is good, but not outstanding. The real strength is the ability of the unit to act as a repeater, or as an access point connected via Ethernet (which will be my application), as well as supporting outside use.The LEDs on the unit can be toggled off if desired. The curved braces between antennas are also optional, although they do stabilize the position of the lower antennas and provide extra bracing to the top antennas (which are fixed in position, but secured only by the connectors). The LAN port adds flexibility, as it allows a wired devices (or devices, if a switch is added) to be connected regardless of the mode the unit is operating in. Gigabit port speed also assures wireless speed and connected devices won't be limited by a slower 100Mbps port(s) found on some other units of this type.

Non-supported piece of junk.
Purchases on the premise that it would work according to the instructions and videos. It does not work there is no support! The only support I was able to find is a note from wavelength. Which says that they've turned everything off so nothing's going to work because of AI. None of that makes any sense to me but okay. Desperately need to boost my Wi-Fi signal. This is not the product for that going to steer clear of all wavlink. The instructions are less than helpful you have to go online and look at videos and tech support forums. It never connects to a router it never tries I've tried on three different networks in the area I even hardwired it to a router and it still did not pick up. The company is not supporting their own software or their own equipment. This sucks

Great extender.
Works as it should. Setup was nice and easy and the mounting was easy enough as well. It extended the range of my wireless network all the way to the back edge of our property so that I can have my game cameras down in the bottoms and check them on my computer in the house.

Excellent Outdoor Wi-Fi Extender
This outdoor Wi-Fi extender does a first class job at extending the range of my Wi-Fi around my property. I got this one because I have an area of my land that has an old quarry, and for some reason the Wi-Fi signal extenders I already have placed around do not seem to send the signal into the old quarry area. I have power in that area, so I was able to set this one up down in the quarry. This unit I placed up on a tree where it picks up signal from the other units and this extender now covers the old quarry with a good strong Wi-Fi signal. The unit is light weight, it is easy to physically setup. But programming it to be part of a Wi-Fi network does take a bit of time, which was the only not great part of this experience. But once that part was done, and it is up and running I can forgive that because it works so well.Every part on it is designed to be outdoors except the power to ethernet plug, I attached photos of it, this piece has to be kept under cover, out of the rain. There is a little green light in the side of this part that you can glance at to see if the Wi-Fi is getting power. I had to place it inside a camera doorbell cover, so it does not get rain and snow on it.The extender is easy to physically setup, there are 2.4 and a 5G antennas, on each side, each antenna has the power output printed on them, so make sure you place the right antenna onto the right output. There are plastic arms that help support and hold the antennas on both sides of the extender in place. This outdoor Wi-Fi extender is very well made, it is nice quality and looks and feels like it will be sturdy enough to handle being out in the heat and the cold, the wind, rain and snow without issue. So far I am delighted with this extender, it is doing exactly what I got it to do. It works and it does not give me any trouble which is all I can hope for. I like it, very glad I was able to get this outdoor Wi-Fi extender.
