Good substitute but not as user friendly as Canon
The item works in every way. There are no questions about its performance. It works as it should. In fact, it works exactly like the Canon equivalent. The only issue is that it is not as easy to change lenses with this one. You need both hands, and it requires some muscle to change the lessons. It is not intuitive to use. I have had it for several months now, and I am never satisfied that I have attached the lens properly, and constantly have to double check that the lens is secure. It is not as easy to remove or attach a new lessons because of the way their locking mechanism works. The canon one is easy, straightforward, and secure. You can change the lens with one hand. If you ignore the above, the of the adaptor is great. It is better priced than the Canon one. I am still using it so if you can overcome issues with removing the lens and attaching one, then the it is a solid investment and offers great value for money. The materials are solid just like Canons. I cannot talk about longevity because I have not had it that long.

It works 100% as advertised
So MUCH cheaper than the Nikon version. I have so much invested in glass that I decided to keep some of my lenses. Nothing more to say!

Worse than useless
Spotty autofocus operation at best, worst case scenario the adaptor will still ruin things for you by triggering a full range autofocus rack while you have the camera and lens both set to manual focus! Just absolute rubbish despite persevering with support from Viltrox to update firmware etc it’s still knackered.

Good build quality
I had difficulty with this product and then realised it did not work on the xt30. So sent back my fault not theirs. But in trying to update the firmware there were a number of difficulties Firstly, could not find the firmware file on the lens after connecting to my Mac, it seemed to be missing. Then the lens was not listed in their website so even if I did find the file I am not sure how easy it we have been to update. Not a good story for what looks like a super product.

Terrible company and product
This product is not fit for purpose, it has a mechanical problem for which the electronic contacts don't work properly.But the company that sells it its even worse, when I asked to be refunded under warranty they pretended that it would be solved updating the firmware even when I explained in detail the mechanical discrepancy between the adapter and the camera.DO NOT BUY FROM THEM THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.
