Great Bike
Upon ordering the ProGear, it was delivered to my home in 2 days - impressive. The packaging was almost perfect - very well done. As dozens of other reviewers have commented, the assembly is straightforward and not difficult. The instructions are clear and all necessary bolts/washers are included. No tools are necessary, as they are included as well.I'm 5'4" - and like others of the same height, I have to use a pillow at my back to reach the pedals - not a problem at all - it's extremely comfortable. I rode one mile at a leisurely pace immediately after assembly. When riding, the bike is completely silent - the computer features are easily readable - and the seat is very comfortable. The only negative thing I have to say is that the paint is chipping off the grey gear housing box. I was about half-way into assembling when I noticed a small red patch of paint on the housing. I lightly rubbed the patch, thinking it would come off. The grey paint flaked off, leaving a large red spot. I noticed a large patch of bubbles - and as I lightly touched it, the paint again peeled off, leaving an even larger red blotch of paint, obviously the undercoat of paint on the housing. There are other bubble areas which I assume will peel off as well, as time goes by. It seems really odd because the rest of the bike is in almost perfect shape. It's not worth returning, as the bike is assembled. I'm hoping this review finds its way to the manufacturer so they can correct the problem.Other than the flaking paint, I'm pleased with my purchase and am very satisfied with the ProGear bike....the price/assembly/ride add up to a great deal.

Nice, but not at all easy to assemble!
I like this bike a lot, but found it VERY hard to assemble. I've assembled things before but had problems assembling this. I had to assemble it by myself, and it took me 4 hours! The instructions weren't easy to follow, and the parts and tools to use were shrink wrapped to a piece of cardboard and hard to remove. I followed each step but once it was assembled, I had 4 bolts and 4 spring washers left over that I can't figure out where they go (although the bike seems to be stable and secure without them). Also, the computer display is only showing speed (it should also show distance and pulse). I called the 800 number listed in the instruction manual, but it turned out to be a wrong number! I went to the company's website listed in the instruction manual and found a different phone number. I called that number and talked to someone there. They were very nice and are going to send me a new computer display part. I like using the bike. It's very quiet and the pedals turn very smoothly.Update: I've had this bike now for a couple weeks and actually LOVE it!! I never liked exercising, but I find myself actually looking forward to using this bike. I started out using it for 45 minutes in the morning 5 days a week, but the other night I was also on it for over 90 minutes in the evening! I can use it while watching TV. I also bought a little table that's tall enough so that I can use it to put my iPad on so that I can use the iPad while using the bike. I had a problem with the display panel when I first got it, but the company was very nice and sent me a replacement panel, which I installed, so the bike is now working just great. I would definitely recommend this bike.

Well built, designed, quiet, compact and easy on the eyes as part of a small space decor!
I have a small Condo so space is always an issue and was willing to pay a fair amount for a solid, well made exercise machine that used minimal spaceAfter much research, perusing reviews for compact recumbent indoor bikes the choice came down to the Progear 190 and the Exerpeutic 400 XL Folding Recumbent Bike, a very popular choice on Amazon.I ultimately chose the Progear because I noticed when an Amazon customer reviewer had a complaint , the company responded by offering their CS number to fix the issue. The Exerpeutic which also got many great reviews including reviews on fitness sites, seemed to have a number of people who had issues and were NOT pleased with the company's CS. That was a deal breaker and is why I ultimately selected the Progear 190.I did have local company assemble it. Out of the box it looks intimidating with a zillion parts even tho many reviewers say it was easy.... that may be but as a middle aged woman who enjoys simplicity and ease, I decided to give the headache to a professional! My Pro assembly guy took about an hour to complete . He came with a great tool that tightened the bolts to the maximum. He said it was a simple machine to assemble. When asked, he said it seems to be made with quality materials and was surprised when I told him the price. Even the seat is well cushioned tho I haven't worked up my time to an hour of exercising quite yet and perhaps the tush may require a gel cover...I will have to see!It is indeed compact and so easy to fold up to lean against a wall if so required. At 38 lbs it is easy to navigate and the wheels work well on hard floors. Haven't checked it out yet on carpet in my bedroom. As claimed and validated by reviewers, it is completely noiseless to peddle and exceptionally comfortable. Recumbent bikes -and this one is considered a semi recumbent- are easy on the joints, back and positions the user ergonomically to avoid injuries. Just perfect! The computer runs on 2 aaa batteries and is very basic in its functions but personally, many products these days come with a myriad of features that most users never even use.....for such a basic model it does have a heart rate sensor on the handles but as all these hand and wrist heart monitors are not accurate and tend to under-report heart rate. I plan to buy a chest strap heart monitor as they use a different technology ...electrical....and thus are exceptionally accurate.Being over 50 ( 5'4") and healthy, it is still important to stay within my target heart rate for safety. No electricity required to use bike so no wires and outlet issues!Overall, so far, I'm delighted with the product, the incredible price, and performance. I can now do aerobics whether rain or shine...hot or cold.I highly recommend it and would buy it again!

Nice bike for the money
I love this bike! I just got it yesterday, and used it twice. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because I wish there was a small tray holder for a remote or phone. I guess since it's a folding one, that would not be possible. Perhaps as an "add on"? I'm a senior with limited mobility in my lower body, and this is perfect for some much needed exercise. Hubby put together with no problems. Love it!Update: 5/13/17This bike is really nice and strudy for a small folding bike. I'm a big woman and it's very strong. I love the way it keeps track of time, distance, and pulse rate! Very good purchase.
