Despite other reviews, these were extremely easy to install — the provided template makes it almost foolproof. I used them to replace the original (and not well engineered or positioned) lid hinges on a Thomasville cedar chest. The only drawback is Thomasville uses solid wood lids that are REALLY heavy, so I figured they may not have the full soft close ability. It works well enough and the lid opens fully, which it did not before, and they are out of the way. Added some rubber bumper dots and it’s fine. Wish I had done this sooner. Good product.

This works great. The included template makes installation a breeze. I no longer have to worry about my 3 yr old grandson pinching his fingers in the toy box lid. This makes this lid easy to open. But, it controls the closing so that the lid comes down slowly and gently. It is suitable for almost any box with a lid on top. It looks nice and is a virtually universal fit.

Building a toy box for my granddaughter’s 2nd birthday, using these to avoid pinching of fingers. Good installation instructions, attachment template included. Easy install, so relieved that they are really soft closing. Toy box is 30” wide by 15” deep by 20” high.Highly recommend these to be used around small children to avoid injuries.

The instructions weren't clear. I received the product and thought I received 2 right side hinges. They were already assembled minus the screw. This cost me some time to figure out...Come to find out they're irreversible. Aside from that, they worked perfectly.

So easy to instal. Comes with a template that sets up where to mount it. nice slow closure.
