Excellent Chinese bayberry. It's NOT a plum.
This is exactly what I loved snacking on as a kid in the Philippines. We called it Champoy. It's the Chinese Bayberry. It is NOT a plum. It's salty and sweet with a hint of licorice. Not sure what the folks who rated this product low scores were expecting. I'm disappointed at the high price but it beats having to look for it in Chinatown in NYC or sending for it in the Philippines. Amazon truly amazes me.

Highly processed ingredients and dented top
I only saw the exact ingredients when I got it delivered. It should have been listed clearly in the ingredient list for the product here on Amazon. It has ingredients that would make me sick so I have to trash it. I don't even want to give it to someone else who's not allergic because of the highly processed ingredients. Plus, the top of the metal lid came dented too!

My Champoy
I am satisfied with my order. I received it a day early. The Preserved Bayberry ..., we call it Champoy in the Philippines... tasted so good . The champoy of the Philippines is much sweeter. This product is so good. When I ate the champoy it brings me memories with my late father who always brings home Champoy every time he go to Cabanatuan City.Updated review : August 25, 2021I ordered again this item last August 3, and I Just received it just right now. I did not know it will take that long. For that I am changing my reviews to 4 stars. The seller is from China.

Typical bayberry
Not as much as I had hoped for the price, but in a well made small plastic container and the size of the bayberries were ok.

Best By Date is 10/28/2019
My last order of the Champoy is expired or the Best By date is October 28, 2019! Why is that?!

Good product
It satisfies my cravings even if this product is a little dry than what im used to eat as a kid, but I'm ok with it since this one is a different brand
