SUPERB
Excellent....nay :- "EXCELLENT" recording culled from two shows Mac gave at The Forum, Inglewood, California Oct 21st & 22nd 1982. A VHS video was available mid 80s, ( I believe ), which I had. I believe it too was also culled from the two shows. The audio from that VHS is available on a bootleg multi-disc set "Gold Dust Radio". It times in at 72.37.....so not the complete show. This release is the full setlist running to 5 minutes short of 2 hours. It is absolutely essential. Some wonderful playing, especially Lindsay's soloing, extended on a couple of songs at least :- Not That Funny & I'm So Afraid. I remember the Video being shown on tv mid 80s. It was mesmerizing. Only really knowing of Rumours at the time, I considered them too MOR for me.....OH NO....NO NO NO ! The songs are not all taken from the VHS soundtrack, I only recognized a few from it. There are 6 unreleased songs, plus 3 from the "Fleetwod Mac Live Deluxe Edition".Have to say it's also a blatant missed opportunity.....should have released BOTH concerts, ( 4 x CDs ) plus a DVD/Blu-Ray of one of them. What a cracking box-set that would have made ! ! To physically see it at the time on the VHS I had was amazing.

Worthy but flawed live release
Fleetwood Mac released a live VHS of these shows, long out of print, never available on DVD and fondly remembered by those of us who owned it back then. In lieu of a proper upscaled Blu-Ray edition, here's the audio soundtrack at long last, with the previously omitted tracks back in place (some of which were included in the Deluxe version of the Live album remaster). It's long overdue. It's culled from both nights, so it's a bit of a patchwork, but we can convince ourselves that we got the best version of each song. This is a very different version of Fleetwood Mac than was heard on last year's excellent Rumours Live release. Five years of endless touring as one of the biggest bands in the world, the arguments and drug addictions had taken their toll. This is the Mac at the height of their cocaine-fuelled years. This version of the band is rougher, edgier, more dangerous and unpredictable, and I for one prefer it. This really shows what a great live band FM could be. After these shows, Stevie Nicks booked herself into the Betty Ford Clinic, and the band were never quite the same again. Highlights are a blistering Don't Stop, an on-point Sara, and a Not that Funny thankfully without Mick's drum solo (for those that remember that old VHS, unfortunately that horrible edit in Sisters of the Moon is still present - I don't know why they didn't do something about it, it was jarring then, and it's even more jarring now, this review loses a star for that). An excellent and thoroughly recommended release. Apparently Rhino are committed to these legacy releases, so it'll be interesting to see what they unearth next!

Up to usual Mac sound standards, a great sounding album with all their favourite tracks.

Worth Having
This was bought after reading a review in a national paper (not always wise), but this is a good album to have, indeed Fleetwood Mac really do sound good and are certainly enjoying themselves. The star performer is the late great Christine McVie who really stands out, but what a waste to include 'Not That Funny' as a side 1 closer.
