Easy to use, but not completely reliable without FDA approval
The Accufast Fecal Occult Blood/Transferrin Combo Test Kit is straightforward and simple to use. It can detect both Hemoglobin and Transferrin, making it very useful. The pen-shaped design is easy to use, and I like that I can test it in private at home. The data might be correct, but since this kit isn't FDA-approved, I'm not sure. It's a good way to keep an eye on your bowel health, but I think you should talk to a doctor for a more accurate analysis. It's a good place to start to raise awareness, but I wouldn't count on it for all of my serious health concerns.

Better Than Test From GP
This is a much better test than the FITS test available from a GP in that it distinguishes between different types of blood from different areas whereas the test from the GP just detects blood. The kit is simple to use and comes with everything needed except a timer, again, much better than a test from a GP which does not include anything to collect the sample. Once finished with, the sample and paper can be flushed and the test and wrappers put into the rubbish bin. It is quick and hygienic to use and the results are clear to read. The only gripe I have is that the font is tiny on the instructions and I struggled to read them even wearing my reading glasses. This is much easier to organise than having to get a consultation with the GP, get a test authorised, pick it up, take it back and then wait for results. If a positive result is found, it gives extra ammunition when trying to get a GP referral. Well worth the money.I can recommend it.

Simple to do, all done at home, takes a few mins, gets results quickly
I think this a a great idea. Althought they shouldnt, these sorts of tests can induce all sorts of embarassment. This is the sort of test I really appreciate. It allow me to test for it, at home, with a quick test resul;t in a few minutes. It supplies thge kit which consist a test which is on one end of a holder, with the test substances on the cap. This means after collecting a sample to test (it only takes a few seconds), you plug the test stick into the cap with the fluid, making sure it is firmly attached, invert it and wait for the results in 3 minutes plus.It gives a test line showing the test has been successful and two more line indicators, each testing for a particular substance. If the test for that substance is positive it will show a line against teh test. The first test is for hemoglobin (ie blood) in the stool indicating possible lower intestinal issues. The test also tests for Transferrin (which is a blood derived component) which can again indicate possible issues in either the upper or lower intestinal tract. This is simpel to do, quick to get the results and the congtainer with the sample closes up securely. Its a very simple test to carry out and an important one. I recommend it

Easy to use
Price at review: £13.99I have used the previous version of this test and this upgraded one is significantly easier to use. You do still have the difficulty of collecting the stool sample but after that the whole mechanism is much more hands-off and very easy to do. Its also good that they upgraded the test to detect two different things. The listing video is very informative and well worth watching before using the kit.My only complaint is that it is quite expensive if you want to regularly screen.

Collection method a bit fiddly
I found the collection method a bit of a faff. I think the idea is to trap the collection paper under the feet of the toilet seat. However the feet on my toilet seat are set back a bit which meant that some of the paper was obscured by the seat itself thereby reducing the target area. Also because the paper isn't that long it sat quite high up in the toilet which I predicted could be an issue! In the end I had to split the collection paper apart at one end (it's 2 ply paper) to double its length and secure each side down on the outer part of the bowl with sellotape. Not an ideal performance when you really need to go! The downside of doing this is that you're reducing the strength of the collection paper, but I found for me that it was still strong enough to hold. After that the rest of the testing process was very straightforward and I particularly liked that it was all self-contained. I got a negative result which is a relief as I've been having a few bowel issues recently. No idea whether that result is accurate but you'd have to assume it is.Overall I'd say this is a decent self-contained test which is easy to use but just give yourself a bit of time to plan out how you're going to collect your sample.

HEALTH BY STEALTH
This is a personal bowel health screen test kit, screening for both upper and lower intestinal issues in one go.It is intended for early screening, by passing administrative and logistical healthcare delays and potentially garners evidence.Illustrated instructions and information are given on the box and enclosed leaflet. It is important to understand all the information before using the kit.The kit is simple to use but knowing how to take the stool sample correctly and then to interpret the results ensures accuracy and avoids a spoilt test. This is a single use, dual result bowel screen test kit, designed for minimal stool contact and pardon the pun, is done at one's convenience.

Great for the Price- Recommended
Thankfully we had good results however if in doubt you should of course still go to a professional and have a proper screening done. For a quick piece of peace of mind and home comfort though or as something indicative to explore more officially this is a good option and although need a little time set aside to complete properly is worth the effort and the science behind it is solid too for an indicative suggestion - but remember that this is all that is and you should defiunitley go for a proper screeninging if genuinely concerned.
