Patching a crack with this saved me thousands of dollars.
Purchased this to patch a crack in the strainer intake on an in-ground pool. The alternative to fixing the crack was having a pool contractor come in and replace the whole thing, which would require partially draining the pool and some intricate concrete work. Since that was going to be crazy expensive - and may be required in the future - this was an interim solution. Our pool maintenance guy suggested patching it and this was what came up as a high recommendation. Sine the alternative was crazy expensive this seemed worth it.In my case the repair was straightforward. Since the crack was below the flapper level on the strainer intake, the repair was in a dry area when I did it. Unfortunately, that means I can't attest to how well this works under water. It was a little challenging to get the stuff to stick, and I can't imagine that getting this in place at the bottom of a full pool would be easy. But it does work and it was rock solid when it set.Kneading the two part putty together takes some finger strength and it might be easier if it's warm.Overall, I'm giving it 5 stars for the effectiveness of the repair.

Great stuff for small repairs in hot tub.
Did exactly what it says. Filled in an opening in the concrete where the little tiles/concrete came off around the jets (golf ball size). Disclaimer, I drained the hot tub first since it was time to put in fresh water.

Simple to Use
This is easy to use by simply mixing the parts together. Can’t wait to see how long it lasts.

Hope it works but ???
Very thick, and therefore, difficult to knead the two parts together. It does not stick to stainless steel. It is in the pool but skeptical that it will get the job done.

It works!
I am happy with result. Just make sure the surface is clean.

Didn't work for me
I will say I used this for an alternative method but it was still not able to seal a leak that was wet/underwater and did not cure in the time it said it would. Not only that but it was incredibly hard to incorporate, the putty's were not very pliable or workable.

Very nice glue
I used this to fix the pool leaks 3 weeks before, no leak anymore, happy purchase

Hard to cut, hard to mix, strange reaction with water.
I use 'pool putty' for a ton of different applications. It is so versatile and useful for things beyond pools, so I always like to keep it on hand. Usually, I get the putty in the tubes, which is a pretty small amount, so I was excited to get a lot more with this product. This arrived pretty quick. There are 2 seperate, sealed packages in the box along with a putty knife which is a bit flimsy.NOW, I know this stuff isn't supposed to smell good, but I've never used a putty that smelled this bad- like old, rotten fish, before. The stench literally brought a tear to my eye as soon as I opened the packages. It's not that easy to break/cut off a piece of either one of these blocks. I'm guessing that's what the putty knife is for. The problem though is- the putty knife is super flimsy and both of the blocks are VERY hard. I don't know if somehow mine were already exposed to air, or if they have been laying around for a while because my blocks are more like bricks! Making it worse, when you cut through the bricks, you have to make sure the pieces are as even as possible.Mixing this isn't fun either. Not only is the putty hard, but it's also crumbly. Mine just didn't want to stay together at all. It's super stressful because I'm trying to mix/keep it together and bits keep dropping out of the crumbly mass. Once the color starts to get even, the putty starts getting warm and shortly after, starts to set up. There's not a lot of time to work with this at all.I used this around my drippy house spigot, just to give it a better seal and make it a little more secure. There were a few drips of water there already (I tried to wipe them off, but it was dripping) and this had a very interesting reaction to the water. First, it got really slick on the surface- almost like wet clay. It left grayish white residue all over the areas that I touched after with that 'slip' on my hands. Then, while that was happening at the top, the underside had completely seized up with water contact! I was pretty shocked. This has never happened to me before and this is literally supposed to be used under water! I wouldn't put this in my pool- ever!I got to thinking after that.Maybe I didn't have equal parts. Maybe I didn't mix it well. Maybe it was too hot outside. So I went into the AC house, got out my scale and literally put down a mixing mat. All the same things happened that I mentioned above. Thus just doesn't do well with water at all! Now, if you can cut it (I use a metal paint scraper) and get it mixed well and on time, this does set up nice outside of water applications. AND, if you put it on something totally dry, let it set and then introduce water (like a hole/crack in a pipe) then it is water resistant and will stop leaks. So it DOES work, it's just a pain.Again, I feel like I might have received a product that was already exposed to air somehow because I just don't think it's supposed to be this hard (to cut or mix). It's unfortunate because I was excited to have so much product and not spend a ton of money.
