This is NOT soft close as advertised
Be aware that this is NOT a soft close toilet seat as advertised. Like many other reviewers have experienced, I paid a bit extra for the soft close version. Only after fitting did I find out that it isn't soft close, which is annoying having paid a premium for it. Would have accepted it as a one-off mistake until I read all of the other customer reviews having the same experience. I'd bet most people just live with it rather than go to the hassle of changing it again, which means the seller is quids-in. I've sent mine back for a refund.

Went for a seat that matched the make of the bowl so we could be sure it would fit perfectly
Perfect fit for the bowl better than cheap ones that we have had trouble with fitting properly well worth paying the extra

Does the Job
Do not think these are OE Armitage Shanks seats.Fitted the toilet but quality compared to the original is AWFUL.

Instruction Sheet needs improving
Seat easy to fix on my 13 year old Sandringham 21 toilet base, only after realising that Toilet Seat Hinge Pack sent was oomplete. Following the Instruction Sheet provided, it initially looked as though there should be 2 of each of the fixings - however please note that the bigger plastic 'wing nut' is not that, but is in fact a tightening up tool, so only one is needed. No explanation given on sheet and looks like there should be 2 of them from the sheet. I suggest customers are made aware of this by the manufacturer by them simply stating it is a tightening up tool - I have knocked one star off my review; otherwise fits easily and well.

this is NOT a softclose
It's the perfect shape/fit for our toilet, but is NOT a softclose.I rang the supplier & the code for softclose is E131801

Not a soft close seat
This product is relatively easily installed. It is rather lightweight and not sturdy looking. My main gripe is that it is NOT a soft-close lid as advertised. Such plain deception is disappointing from an established company like Ideal Standard and Amazon UK for stocking it
