Easy to use and economical - cuts great as well
For the $70 price point I paid, this item works really well at limbing up branches on my trees. It snaps right on to my Craftsman power head and does a great job at cutting up limbs. I have been able to cut up to 6" limbs with this tool without any problem. It comes with an Oregon chain and bar - which isn't a bad quality product. I didn't expect top of the line at this price point, but it does a great job for the price paid.I do with the manufacturer would offer an extension shaft to allow me to reach taller branches. I might be able to find that as an accessory, but I would definitely pay another 20 to 30 dollars for an extension shaft to get an additional 3-4' of reach.Overall, it has served it's purpose and does a nice job for the job at hand. I do recommend that you use a good quality chain oil in any saw you buy. I use Stihl bar oil since it seems to give pretty good lubrication for my chain saw bars/chains.

Good quality! Works great!
I was just about to buy the other one for $99 when I saw this one for a lower price! I am glad I bought this one! It is surprisingly durable for being so low priced. The Oregon brand bar and chain make it a no brainer....You do have to install the bar and chain upon unpackaging...so make sure you install the chain in the right direction...there is a guide depicting correct chain direction in the molding above and to the right of the chain sprocket to aleviate any confusion. I used this with a Troy Bilt 4 cycle straight shaft trimmer with the interchangeable tool capability...it does seem to be universal across brands with that feature. I am 100% satisfied with the quality and functionality of this trimmer saw for what I paid...almost half the price of other cheaper built brands!

Cuts Like Crazy!
I'm using this with a Greenworks 40V power head to trim Live Oaks. It cuts much better than I expected, chewing right through limbs up to 6" in diameter. One feature that can be annoying is that any binding will cause the powerhead to shut off, so I have to be careful with alignment and pressure. Overall, really good performance and a real time saver.

Quality parts but poor quality control on assembly.
2-year review. I purchased the sun seeker because it has a built-in pivoting head which stihl does not offer. Unless you buy multiple 15° pivoting attachments which are heavy and make the pole saw hard to use so this one is much better in that respect than the stihl. As far as the gearing and drive rod those old pair to be good quality. There are however some major problems. There was a lack of quality control. It is supplied with a bar that does not match up with the oil holes fortunately I have a milling machine and carbide bits and Cobalt bits if you didn't you would be in a bit of trouble. Second basic problem is it is supplied with 3/8 chisel style chain this chain is designed for units that are 75 to 100 cc's not for tiny little pole saws chain has way too much grab. It should be supplied with 0325 or 1/4 inch semi chisel. The quality of the oiler itself is good and the hoses are well protected by metal banding. It does fit the stihl Combi system and we'll work with stihl brand extensions. The big big problem on the quality control is that inside the head where the aluminum shaft goes there is a race for an internal snap ring that holds the gear bevel gear that accepts the square power rod coming from your power head this snap ring was not installed at the factory. Therefore the gear kept coming out of place and not making contact with the other bevel gear to drive the chain. This is a major problem since the location of the snap ring is two or two and a half inches down inside the cast aluminum it was extremely difficult to install a new snap print and I chipped the casting a little bit internally when I did even with the appropriate snap ring pliers because most snap ring pliers will not reach such a deep distance. I happen to be supplied with specialized snap ring pliers but I believe came from Mac tools most folks don't just have those sitting around and even with those very specialized snap ring pliers that still wouldn't quite reach the internal race being so deep and I had to drive it the last little bit with a screwdriver and some punches once in place the gears held together much better and it's been cutting nicely. This would have been a simple problem to avoid at the factory if they had just put the snap ring in from the opposite end prior to installing the gears. So we see a tiny quality control problem causing a major functional problem. Like I said the parts that are it is made of are excellent the gears appear to be well hardened definitely machined nicely but it's the quality control issues. Hopefully the manufacturer will read this and fix the problem with supplying a bar with whose holes do not line up for oiling and supplying the incorrect chain and fixing the quality control issue if they did those things they would have a machine that absolutely beats stihl out of water. I will say the pivot head mechanism is very reliable and better than the pivot head mechanism on any stihl brand equipment that has that for the combi.

Sharp but flimsy
Works well if you are careful. The swivel/pivot is loose and of poor quality allowing the blade to bounce around while cuttingBlade so sharp that if you pressure it, it digs hard and you will stall your trimmer. If it was better built (loose rattling pivot), it would be perfect.

Blade guard arrived broken
The plastic chain guard came broken in the box. I tried contacting the company twiceand no response. Otherwise the unit works great. I have cut branches 2-3 inches in diameter with no problem. I use a battery (40 volt) operated weed wacker power head with an extension. It would be nice if the manufacturer would send me a new chain guard.UPDATE: The company has since sent me a whole new pole saw. It took a while but once they contacted me they resolved the situation very quickly.

The chain oil inlet hole is on the wrong side of the bar.
One the one that I received, the chain oil inlet hole is on the wrong side of the bar, so the chain will not get any oil. The manual clearly shows (on page 5) the oil inlet hole (#1) in the correct place-note that there are two oil holes (one on each side) and, when the bar is flipped, one of them will mate with on the oil passage (#2) and not visible, the other should be visible on the same side as the chain tension screw. I haven’t yet decided what I will do about this, there are options. Also, while the ad clearly shows an Oregon bar in two places, this does NOT have an Oregon bar, it has a Badger bar. They don’t actually STATE that it has an Oregon bar, just imply it with the photos, misleading (IMHO) at best.
