I ordered this Surge Protector for the small refrigerator in my garage. My neighborhood sometimes experiences brownouts and power outages, and I wanted to prevent damage to the compressor.The two standout features of this device are its reliable time delay and surge protection. The time delay feature, which I observed in action upon initial power application, instilled in me confidence that the device would function effectively during a genuine brownout or power outage. While I haven’t had the opportunity to test the surge protection feature, I trust its efficacy, as with any other surge protector I purchase.The LED indicators are also essential to me. A while back, the breaker in the garage tripped, and I was unaware that the refrigerator had been off for several days. With the LED indicators, I will have a quick visual to tell me if the power is on. I go past that area several times daily and will notice immediately if the power is off.So far, I am happy with this device and considering ordering a second unit for a different refrigerator.

Two copies of the instructions were included, but both were written in Spanish. It a beautiful language that I unfortunately don’t know how to speak or read. That’s not a problem, though. Watch the video.The 3-minute delay is EXACTLY what refrigerator manufacturers really ought to build into their appliances. But thankfully this Emerand Voltage Protector does the job perfectly.Form factor is a significant concern, so think carefully before you buy. If you look at my photos, you can see that the plug is 11/16” from the top edge of the protector. Anything over 1/2” will obstruct the neighboring outlet. This is a minor obstruction, but it could prevent other devices to be plugged in fully.More importantly, the socket is angled downwards slightly inside a slightly curved “pocket”. This appears to be intended to help with cable management, like behind a refrigerator. But it does cause significant problems if you’re trying to plug in an AC adapter for electronics.In short, this is a great protection device, but it has some usability issues in some circumstances.

I have a large freezer in my storage area. This voltage/surge protector is a must to protect the freezer. Having 3 outlets also gives me extra space to use the power if needed. Only problem is all the instructions, etc are in foreign language. No english Had to translate all the caution light labels

Added electrical power protection device to wall plug behind my home refrigerator - so it's not subject to periodic, quick power outages this neighborhood experiences for some reason - especially in stormy or windy weather. As soon as this device detects the wall plug power has dropped below 90v, it switches off for 3 minutes (even if power is restored sooner) ensuring at least 3 minutes before refrigerator starts again - protecting the compressor. Also reacts to over voltage (spike) condition greater than 140v AC. This model has a max current rating of 12-amps, which is more than my refrigerator draws. Be sure not to use this model if connecting a refrigerator that uses over 12-amps. All values are preset and cannot be changed on this model. Tested working as intended and good to know my refrigerator won't be subject to damage from quick power fluctuations.
