Seemed heavy when I unpacked it but feels so light and easy to use when in action. The cable is more than long enough for the job I needed to do. It cut through branches more than 2cm thick with a bit of encouragement and left the hedge looking nice and tidy. Only used once so cannot comment on blade durability.

This feature seems more like an afterthought rather than a practical addition, and it might be better if it were omitted or redesigned for better functionality.Another issue is the blade cover, which is made of weak plastic. It's quite difficult to put on and take off. A sturdier and more user-friendly blade cover would be a significant improvement.Despite these minor drawbacks, the trimmer excels in performance. The motor is powerful, effortlessly cutting through thick branches and hedges, saving both time and effort.Overall, the BLACK+DECKER Electric Hedge Trimmer is a great value for its performance and ease of use, making it a highly recommended addition to any gardener’s toolkit.

First what I liked was the colour, bright but not Gordy, the next like is the mini saw "as part of the hege cutting action " , nice when you need to cut those branches that's thicker than your thumb. Next like is the way it feels, balanced your not struggling to hold it up. Next like the reach of the blade it's long enough but not to long. The other like is the cable secure that will stop the tugging of the cable out of the unit it self which would cause damage and malfunction, and it makes it easier to carry if you need to go up a Lader to get to the top of a hedge top or a Bush to just clip it back " stowing the hedge cutter over your shoulder " with the cable over your back. I did spray with a wd40 for protection on first usage and sprayed again after finishing . Then put on the plastic sleeve job done put it away, now looking to see what needs a good clipping. Conclusion a very nice tool and not to expensive and good enough for your average garden.

Wow - this was way more powerful than I expected but in a good way. Our hedges have become overgrown in recent months and we needed something with a bit of oomph (good word oomph) and this has it in spades.Even on the thickest hedge we have, it demolished it in seconds. Superb for the money, does the job and the only downside was the vast amount of hedge cuttings we had to tidy up!

Sharp blades, fast, powerful, sturdy, and reliable.I had some awful spiky, thick bushes in my front yard, and this machine easily cut through them and cleared the whole thing without any problems.Highly recommended!!

This was a great purchase for me I am yet to find out how long it will last I will then update review if I need to but so far it has had a couple of uses and cuts very well. I have a lot to cut all the time. The saw part of this however, is useful but blunt after 2 uses, it now struggles to cut thicker branches.The rest of it still cuts perfectly and I would still recommend this product but don't rely on the saw I have given it a 4 star because of the saw getting blunt so quick and easily plus it does get in the way when you are trying to cut close to a wall when you don't need the saw as it stops the normal cutters getting to the area you need it to.Over all it is a great product, very well built, easy to hold and makes the job so much easier and faster.

I can only compare this with my 20 year old bosch and my neighbours machines. The lead is so short it is a waste of time unless you are going to use it on a window box. It does trim the hedge but nowhere as effectively as my old machine. As for the saw element on the end - I have tried to use it but haven't found any twig or branch it will cut. Instead it is nuisance when cutting close to the ground as it wont trim the hedge and instead it keeps hitting the ground. Would I buy this again - No!

I nearly gave this 4 stars but then felt I should review it for what it is, not the ideal. I have used a petrol hedge trimmer and this obviously hasn't got that power. The reason I didn't buy petrol is weight and I could not safely use a petrol one off a step ladder at shoulder height. I wanted more power than a battery trimmer so I ended up with one with a cable which isn't my ideal. But this works well. 4 stars for easy to use because it doesn't always cut what you want with one sweep. Occasionally it took a few goes to cut what I wanted but that's down to the power and I doubt other electric ones would be any better. I don't know if the blade on the end is that useful as I prefer to use long handled croppers for the occasional thicker branch and I never expected to use the blade. The trimmer does cut what I expected it to cut though. It is lightweight and I was able to do a lot of trimming without needing a break. The double switch is a good feature as you can carry it using either handle knowing it cannot be accidentally switched on. If you've got lots of low hedges then I would recommend buying a petrol trimmer. Otherwise this is a good product and I'm happy with it and the finish I got on my hedges.
