The paper has a nice feel and texture, but it is thinner than I expected. I plan to use this for business correspondence where it is important my letters stand out. I do not like that the paper has a watermark that says "100% COTTON HIGHTECH".

When I saw this, I got excited. This paper looked like the perfect way to combine artwork and printer paper.TEXTUREThis paper is amazing. It is thin like velum, but it has fiber in it similar to the paper money in the US. The one side is very smooth. The other side has a rough sort of texture like US dollar money has.WATERCOLORThis paper is fantastic for doing watercolor on. What I got this for was to do watercolor pencils on. I found in the meanwhile that doing washes on this paper works beautifully- you just have to tape the edges down while it dries.SOAKING THROUGHYou might be wondering how I plan to do this. If I am going to print on this, I will use laser printers to do it. Then after printing, I will do a design with watercolor pencils or even watercolor paints. The ink won't move and the watercolor will react well to the paper. It is a really fantastic way to combine creativity and fine arts with business side of printing.I did not find that the water soaks through the other side if it is not overburdened with heavy water based washes. I took a photo to show you of the water activated pencils and then the back after quite a bit of water on the pencils. You can hardly see it soak through the back.WASHESThis also will work if I take the edges of the paper down and do light watercolor washes on it. Then I will let it dry so it will remain flat. Once that happens, I can print on it if the paint load is not heavy.BASIC PRINTINGOf course basic printing is going to work well on this. It will look somewhat thin, but it will look classy and stand out if handled right.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is delightful paper. I am going to get a lot of use out of this combining watercolor, colored pencils, and conventional printing. I can also use pen and ink, but wanted to comment on the printing capabilities.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. This really opens up possibilities for me as an artist. I am VERY excited about this paper. I love that I can do my artwork and combine it with printing vs hand lettering (which I can also do) if I want to. Highly recommended if you are like me and want a good combination paper.I can not do this type of thing on any other printer paper.PHOTOSI have photos for you of watercolor pencils using underlying texture to color on, smooth backing to color on and then water activated pencil. The next photo shows the back which is barely showing through and is still not wet even after adding water to the pencils on the front. The last photo is a close up of the texture to show you the fibers in the paper which add to the character.

75% Cotton 25% Linen Business Paper, Ivory 85gsm 8.5"W x 11"L Resume Paper, Won't Get Wet Printing Paper 100/Box with Low StarchThis is an inexpensive box of 100 sheets of cotton/linen blend paper. Each side has a slightly different texture - one side is smooth and the other side has a slight tooth. The 85gsm paper is thin enough for a lined sheet underneath to just show through. I've uploaded photos with a basic pen test on each side so you can see the shadowing. The paper tears nicely with a creased fold. I would order this paper again.

I was drawn to this paper due to another reviewer's comparison of this to the paper used for paper money, and it's pretty similar - the linen/cotton duo quality with dual-textured sides is very unique, and fun to work on with water-based media. Other reviewers complained about watermarks, but mine does not show anything - it's just extremely sturdy with its linen fibers while remaining thin like vellum.
