Outstanding shoes.
I previously had a pair of these shoes that lasted 20 years! I wore them a lot as you can imagine but finally the sole wore through, the upper and surround still looked very good condition I mean like another 10 years easy but alas it was time to say good bye to what felt like the most comfortable shoes I’d ever had.I bought the original pair in a Clark’s high street store long before Amazon, I’d look when I was in a Clark’s store but never saw them again till low and behold they appeared here on Amazon.Snapped up this pair when a deal was on, awaited their arrival (uk10.5 got to love the half size) hoping that nothing had changed or they had become a shadow of the formers quality. But Ive got to say happily when they arrived they looked and felt as the old ones did. Even slipping my feet in to these brand new shoes felt like I was putting in the old set again. I can’t understate how finding good shoes that just fit and are comfortable out the box that don’t fall apart in a few years and slip on nice and easy, I had tried Barbour and Hush puppies before I found these and they just don’t cut it.Choice of colours and sizes are wide and varied suede/leather options abound but price wise that’s when you got to look and keep an eye on prices they are a bit up and down but with patience for £50-£65 (varies up to £120 for some) you can normally get a pair that suit. Can’t recommend these enough Ive now just bought the black suede to go with the gun smoke and will keep an eye for others. Suit lots of occasions, slip on and last for YEARS! But most of all for me personally comfortable.

Comfy Sneakers, if a little warm.
Well, not tried a review before, but ... this review is for the Merrells slip-on sneakers (black) on the page :amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0000ADXCH/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1This is the first pair of Merrell's I've tried. I do an evening walk each night (7 days a week, every week of the year) at a brisk pace, lasting around 40mins. Up to now, I've been using Clark's shoes with air cushion soles. On average, my last 4 pairs have lasted around 2 years a piece and they continue to get more expensive. These Merrell's are not hugely cheaper, but a saving of around £30 on my last pair of Clark's.I take a size 8.5 in Clark's and a 9 in Doc Martin's ( ? Don't know why ). I found these size 9 Merrell's a slightly loose fit. but otherwise, very comfortable. Merrell's have an air cushion sole, they also have a slightly higher heel, so I found myself going up in the world a little (They made me a litte taller). The only minor issue I have is that my body produces a fair amount of heat, so I'm always warm, and after coming back from my walk with these Merrell's, my feet get really warm, to the point where my feet swell a little, which takes up some of the loose fit. Should I have bought an 8.5 ? I'm undecided, these are new, we all know shoes stretch over time and I've only had them less than a week, so I guess time will tell.Over the past few days, I've been out on my walk in dry and wet weather. In dry weather, I found the grip on the pavement to be comparable with my Clarks. In wet weather, on tarmac and concrete, the grip is still very good, but I did notice that when walking over the metal grids on the path, these tended to give a little 'slip'. Not enough to loose my balance (I'm not as young as I once was), but enough for me to be aware that they don't feel as safe on metal surfaces as my Clarks do. I've yet to do a walk with a ground frost in place.Overall, for the short time I've had them, they feel sturdy, they really cushion my walk and they are very comfortable, if a little too warm for my taste. Unlike getting a new pair of Clarks, which always tore the back off of my right heel the first time I took them on a walk, these didn't. The heel is as comfy as the rest of the shoe and I've had no foot damage since day 1. Of course, this is probably due to the heavy Nylex Socklining (very soft).Would I buy them again ? If the purchase was purly for comfort, then Yes, but for me, its too early to tell. I need to know how long they last, since the main reason for purchase was economy and a recommendation from my brother who's had the same pair of Merrell's for several years (although he doesn't do an evening walk like me every day).

Black Slate = brown leather.
Colour black slate is in fact brown leather as opposed to suede. Exactly what I researched and wanted, but not always clear from photos. I'm a big fan of Merrell Jungle Mocs. They are comfortable to walk with and have very supportive sides. My previous were Gunsmoke suede and have gone through all kinds of daily terrain over the past four years. They still look and wear well. I like slip-on as I can't bend to tie my laces. Merrells keep their 'tightness' and don't 'slack' through constant pushing & pulling off. The fit is true to size. My latest Merrells have SR soles and feel more 'grippy' than previously purchased.

Merrell's tend to start out stiff but become excellent with use
I've had many pairs of Merrell's over the years - walking boots, shoes, 'sports' sandals, and this is my second pair of these black Jungle Mocs.I don't know if it's just me but the theme with Merrell's has always been the same: great value (more expensive than the 'rubbish' stuff, but cheaper than the 'top end' gear) but they start off stiff and a bit uncomfortable, yet put a couple of dozen miles on them are they become very comfortable; and durability is very good, not quite excellent but then if you want excellent durability then you're paying a lot more.Specifially for the Mocs I find they start off snug on the width, but not uncomfortable, but they stretch out gradually with wear. Sadly my first pair of Mocs (which I've had for 10 years!) finally ended up with completely smoothed down soles (and no splitting/separating, just worn flat from walking) but they are extremely comfortable, molded exactly to the shape of my feet. I just keep them for gardening and pottering about at home, and their replacements are starting to stretch out nicely.
