Binatone 3865 Speakeasy Combo Twin Big Button Telephones & Answering Machine

I needed this 'phone quickly to replace a broken one. It was delivered (by DPD) within minutes of the time which they had notified me of by e-mail. Very impressive.First impressions of this system, comprising two handsets and a corded base are reasonably good. I put all my regular calls into the Phonebook directory of the corded 'phone and hoped that this could be shared/transferred to each handset automatically to obviate the necessity of going through this whole, arduous rigmarole twice more. Sadly, it did not not seem possible - and if you have ever had to perform this time-consuming, button-pressing operation yourself - especially if you have arthritis - you will appreciate how very useful a transfer facility would have been.The display initially only shows only the first eight digits of the 'phone number (either as a received number - Caller Display - or a number you have stored in the directory) and this is a nuisance, as at least five of those numbers are the dialling (routing) code - which leaves only three digits of the actual customer's (subscriber's) number viewable in the first instance! True, you can view the rest of the number by pressing # but when you are in the process of receiving a call and wanting to view the calling number before deciding whether to answer it, this is a real pain!Some reviews comment adversely on the sound quality. I cannot say that I find this poor but an adjustment (Equalizer) is provided should you find the quality not to your liking in some respect.Once the batteries were charged, the handsets worked well and were relatively easy to set up, as was the corded base. You will probably have to spend a few moments digesting the instructions - or those parts which pertain to your particular use - but they shouldn't present you with a problem. There is a UK helpline number to call if you are in difficulty however.

Really good answering machine and telephone and cheaper than on other websites when I ordered it.I am pleased with this machine, big numbers, etc, just the thing and quite easy to operate.....thank you

A 5 star combo phone, easy to set up and very loud ring that is useful if your hard of hearing like i am, the phone contacts are also easy to set up on both phones, a good all round combo. mikeo.

Bought this for my elderly mother to replace an older big atone speakeasy where the batteries had leaked. However new isn't always better. The handsets continue to ring for several seconds after the caller disconnects which causes confusion when answering. Auto answer on cordless handsets intermittently doesn't work. There is no option for a traditional ring tone which means it doesn't really work if there is another tradiitional phone in the house as you end up with an awful mix of sounds.

The phone was bought to replace an older version of the same thing, there is nothing wrong with my hearing but I really struggle with this phone. I've given up on the cordless, the corded is better but still awful. No amount of adjustment improves the sound at all.How anyone with any kind of hearing issue would cope is beyond me quite honestly.

I rate it as being reasonable good value for the price. Has lots of features which I have not attempted as yet; some seem fairly complicated. The guide book is small and full of detail to wade through and does not always work out, for instance the message system. I have utilized the Call Display which seems to be satisfactory so far. The cordless handset is somewhat flimsy and the battery does not last long off the charge cradle. My main criticism, being fairly hard of hearing, is that the ring on incoming calls, is not loud enough. I sought help from customer services who responded helpfully but I need to be near the phone to hear it.

Very good phone , loud ringtone , crisp and clear sound on both handsets ,i have read the reviews of this and other phones in this range and I am so glad I bought this one. I would recommend this phone definitely

I studied many makes but chose this one as it had all features that I wanted and leaves nothing out.Can be used immediately its plugged in, and settings for you own convenience can be set at leisure.The handbook can be a little confusing at times. I think the base unit instructions should be separated from the remote handset instructions, but maybe that's due to my age, (75)The audio boost is very handy as I can now hear everything and my wife can use it without.I would recommend this to all ages. .
